Give The People Power to ImpeachCurrently, there are many politicians who are engaging in impeachment-worthy behaviour.Unfortunately, the power to impeach politicians lies not in the hands of the people where it should be,but in the hands of the corrupt, self -serving politicians themselves. The power to impeach is the power of the people to take back Deomocracy.21 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Tobias

Boehner and Cantor Want to Cut Your PayMore work and less pay? No way. But Reps. Eric Cantor and John Boehner and other corporate bought-and-paid-for politicians want to change that. Cantor has prioritized legislation—H.R. 1406—that would let corporate CEOs get out of their legal obligation to pay cash overtime to workers and replace it with the "promise" of time off in the future. If this bill passes, it would change decades of labor law that have protected the 40-hour workweek and fair pay for workers. Workers who work overtime would be paid nothing and be given the “promise” of time off in the future—whenever the boss gives permission to take it, of course. A lot of workers depend on the extra money they get from “time-and-a-half” overtime pay just to make ends meet. This proposal would take that extra money away, and workers who take “time off” would never see a bump in their paycheck. This bill also would undermine the 40-hour workweek by making it cheaper for CEOs to demand long hours from employees. Boehner, Cantor and other right-wing legislators want you to think this is about “flexibility” for workers. But the only people who’d get flexibility from this legislation would be bosses, not employees. Corporations already have the “flexibility” to give time off whenever they want. What they would gain through this bill is the “flexibility” to pay nothing for overtime work, and then tell workers to “take off” when business is slow. Don’t let Boehner, Cantor and our corporate politicians erode fair pay and the 40-hour workweek. Sign the petition to Congress NOW.978 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Niocole Aro

Stop the Firearms Facility Relocation to Meshomasic State ForestConcerned citizens oppose the proposal by DESPP to utilize 30 acres of State Forest in Glastonbury, CT to construct 55,000 sq ft Firearms Training Facility with multiple firing ranges and 125 parking spaces. The following are some conservation and public safety concerns: • The proposal will impinge on the Meshomasic State Forest and the Shenipsit Trail, a cherished 41 mile Blue-Blazed Hiking Trail managed by the CT Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and used by the public for hiking, running, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. • The area is full of wildlife including the eastern timber rattlesnake, an endangered species under General Statutes § 26-306 and § 26-306-4 of the Regulations of Connecticut State Agencies. • The existing town gun range has limited hours and only small firearms are permitted, whereas, the scope of this project is very broad and involves multiple new large open shotgun and rifle ranges. • An increase in the amount of traffic for this statewide facility is a safety concern for the area's winding roads that are utilized by many bike enthusiasts and runners. • Noise pollution and traffic will disrupt this quiet residential area filled with young children and used by many for peaceful outdoor enjoyment.2,027 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Melissa Pericolosi

Senator Manchin Please Pull the Pentagon PorkPentagon spending is expected to top $653 billion this fiscal year. Many experts believe that cutting the Pentagon’s budget by $50 billion per year over the next 10 years will actually enhance our national security by ending wasteful spending and freeing up the funds to invest in our economy and our communities. According to a Gallup Poll from November of 2012, over 58% of Americans would like to see reductions in military spending.134 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Maggie Fry

CHANGE FLORIDA CHILD CORPORAL DISCIPLINE LAWS & STATUTESKeep in mind this story involves a 7yr old girl whom was beaten & tortured by her Mother then threatened by both her Mother and Mothers Boyfriend. My petition is for people to recognize that FL is a corporal punishment state... Thus meaning, a parent can beat their child and solong as they refrain from breaking bones, dismembering, disfiguring or leaving permenant physical scaring, THATS ALL "OK" IN THE EYES OF THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM! Long story short... The Mother of my child had beaten her with a belt and a stick. Leaving extensive bruising and welts on her posterior and thighs. After beating her, the Mother tortured her by making her sit upon a hard stool. Every time my daughter went to reposition her self due to the pain she was in, her mother would smack her again and again thus leaving bruising and welts on her hands as well. After the beating and torture, the Mothers live in boyfriend, WITH FIREARM IN HAND, threatened my daughter not to tell anybody how the marks came to be and that if she were to tell, she would get it worse and he would kill her Daddy (myself). After viewing the marks and going through DCF and local law enforcement, I decided it would be in the best interests for my daughters protection to file an injunction against the Mother and the Mothers live in boyfriend. Upon our recent day in court, The case & the injunction were dismissed due to FL law permitting corporal punishment upon minor children. This petition is here for all those whom oppose CHILD ABUSE and wish for FL state legislatures to vote on a change to modify these laws... For I demand a change and I hope that you demand it along side myself and all the children in the state of FL that DCF and the COURTS refuse to save due to garbage laws & statutes. If someone inflicts physical harm upon another, they are brought up on criminal charges. If someone inflicts physical harm unto an animal, they are brought up on criminal charges. However, in the great state of Florida... If one is to inflict physical harm upon their child, they face little to no repurcusions for their actions! My mission is for a modification of the blanketing laws which in themselves permitt child abuse... Here is the link to the statute itself: http://www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2011/39.01 Here is main part of statute which I demand modification of: 4. Inappropriate or excessively harsh disciplinary action that is likely to result in physical injury, mental injury as defined in this section, or emotional injury. The significance of any injury must be evaluated in light of the following factors: the age of the child; any prior history of injuries to the child; the location of the injury on the body of the child; the multiplicity of the injury; and the type of trauma inflicted. Corporal discipline may be considered excessive or abusive when it results in any of the following or other similar injuries: a. Sprains, dislocations, or cartilage damage. b. Bone or skull fractures. c. Brain or spinal cord damage. d. Intracranial hemorrhage or injury to other internal organs. e. Asphyxiation, suffocation, or drowning. f. Injury resulting from the use of a deadly weapon. g. Burns or scalding. h. Cuts, lacerations, punctures, or bites. i. Permanent or temporary disfigurement. j. Permanent or temporary loss or impairment of a body part or function. k. Significant bruises or welts. (However, what is "significant"? Because my daughters bruises & welts remained for TWO WEEKS...) WHAT IS STATED ABOVE IS WHAT NEEDS TO OCCUR FOR A COURT OF LAW TO ENTERTAIN A HEARING REGARDING CHILD ABUSE. ANYTHING FALLING SHORT OF WHAT IS LISTED ABOVE IS DEEMED AS CHILD DISCIPLINE. If you agree and sign, I request for you to please fwd this petition to as many others as you can and request for them to do the same. BELOW IS A LINK TO REACH YOUR STATE OFFICIALS. I urge you to please email Florida state officials regaurding your concers pertaining to this matter. http://www.commoncause.org/siteapps/advocacy/search.aspx?c=dkLNK1MQIwG&b=48603751,464 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Robert Mack

Don't Let the Koch Brothers Buy the Second Biggest Newspaper Chain in America! The Koch brothers are the right-wing oil and gas billionaire duo infamous for funding the tea party. Now they want to buy the second largest newspaper chain in the country to spread their extreme views - including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, and Baltimore Sun. The Kochs have spent their fortune funding anti-worker candidates like Scott Walker, right-wing lobbying groups like ALEC, and climate-change denying "think tanks." They even warned tens of thousands of their employees that there would be "consequences" if they didn't vote for Republicans. Not exactly the kind of guys we want running some of the most respected newspapers in America. Isn't one Rupert Murdoch enough? Our newspapers are valuable sources of honest journalism. We can't let them turn into right-wing mouthpieces. Please sign our petition against a Koch brothers buyout of the Tribune newspapers.766 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Joe Dinkin

The President, Senators and Congressmen and Women Should be Paid the Minimum Wage.Seniors like me and my Wife have to live on tiny amounts of money. Our leaders have lost touch with many millions of low income and fixed low income Americans. Appeal for Mathew AimeAfter a horrible boating ACCIDENT Mathew Aime was found guilty and is serving 15 years in Prison.
