• Ban Gut and Replace and Frankenstein Practices
We, the public, are affronted that some state legislators think that ambiguous bill titles and last-minute amendments are an appropriate way to evade basic, procedural safeguards established by our State Constitution. We are calling on the current Hawaii State Legislature to REJECT all bills which were substantively amended in a manner which evades the Constitutional public right to testify on proposed legislation. We are petitioning the legislative bodies to defeat the following bills that were subject to “gut and replace” procedures, and we are petitioning that the following “Frankenstein” bills, that had non-germane material added to them after the opportunity for review in a publicly-noticed hearing, be defeated or be amended to remove the non-germane material prior to a final vote. See filed petition, including bill numbers: http://bit.ly/FrankenSteinPetition We condemn these tactics and strongly oppose these misleading practices which keep the public in the dark.

  • Stop NRA and other corporate lobbyists from buying our politicians
Corporate money in politics is one of the biggest threats to our democracy. The Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision threatens the basic nature of our democratic system, allowing corporations to spend unlimited sums of money to influence the outcomes of elections. Because candidates with the most money win more than 85 percent of the time, corporations and corporate lobbyists now wield incredible power over the election of our country’s leaders. Congress should serve ALL of the people of this nation, not primarily corporations. Congress must act to ensure we have a democracy of the people, by the people, and for the people—not corporations.

  • Imagration Reform
, I especialy think that these children who were brought here when they were babies or todlers should be given a chance at citizenship and schools. I also think in the debate about imagration NAFTA has to be renegotiated. If American companies go to other countries they should pay the workers a fair wage, so they have more of a incentive to stay in thier own countries.

  • President Obama: Mandate background checks for gun buyers.
It is obvious that in spite of the will of 92% of the people, including 78% of gun owners, Congress will not find the courage to approve background checks for gun buyers soon enough. The President, however, has the power to issue executive orders, and should at least consider doing so on bahalf of the vast majority of We, the People.

  • U.S. Senate: Tell us why you really voted down the Manchin Amendment
The American people were told that the Manchin Amendment was a blatant violation of the Second Amendment without a specific explanation as to how. The American people were told that the Manchin Amendment would create a gun registry when it specifically received votes from Senators with great NRA ratings because it would prohibit creation of a gun registry. What were those who voted down the Manchin Amendment really thinking by voting no?

My Mentor Raphaelle Richardson And Norman Redwing use to work for Just Family Network. They are being treated with disrespect. Parents and Staff are lying and causing confusion with them. They have been nothing but good people and deserves respect. Our youth should be our top priority, but its not. This conflict needs to be settle the right way.I believe that "Lies are told to closed minded people to avoid conflict and retribution. A closed minded person can't handle the truth, doesn't want the truth and will punish the truth." Thats why we the YOUTH THAT CARE OF MEMPHIS want the truth. • Bribery Should NOT be Legalized in NC!!!
Rep. Robert Brawley from NC wants to legalize Bribery. Seriously. He created HB640 which states "A public servant, legislator, or legislative employee may knowingly accept a gift from a lobbyist" Even worse, the bill enables them to not report this bribe! This is clearly legalized corruption and should be stopped!

  • Tell Gov. Dalrymple: Don’t Hurt Locked Out Workers
After passing pay raises for themselves, right-wing legislators in Bismarck approved a bill to deny unemployment benefits to locked out workers. If signed into law by Gov. Jack Dalrymple, it will give greedy corporate CEOs even more incentive to lock out workers to drive down wages and benefits for all of us. While we don't think legislators are currently overpaid, it does speak to their priorities when they are giving themselves a pay raise while taking rights away from working people. Tell Gov. Dalrymple to stand up for North Dakota working families and veto HB 1112.

  • No Cuts to Social Security
Social Security is not adding to the national debt, Therefore, it is unfair to millions of Americans to cut out the benefits they spent their working years paying into. Using a "chained CPI" fools no one and hurts ALL of us who depend on Social Security!
