The guidelines for Low Income Federal Tax Credit Buildings expired 10 years ago but were never updated leaving disabled and retired seniors and other low income families suffering financially due to this oversight. My Social Security SSI income is $884 a month and my rent is $711.00, forcing me to go without food and Medicine. Why isn't the Federal Government addressing this?

With the advancement of non lethal ammunition we should push for legislation of live ammo restriction. Non lethal ammunition such as rubber bullets can be used for personal defense of self and home without violating the second amendment. The new rules, as of March 2013, say "miles may not be transfered...upon death." However, the 2012 rule book states: "While the Miles expire upon a Member’s death, the Administrator or Executor of the Member’s Estate may request Delta reinstate and transfer the Miles from the deceased Member’s account to one or more members’ accounts." The City of Joliet is currently proposing building a corporate owned, for profit immigration detention center. If allowed, it would be Illinois' first and would make way for other similar facilities to be built in the state. Help us send a clear message that we don't appreciate deficit expanding, for profit, detention centers that overwork and underpay their employees and cut corners in medical care and proper treatment of their detainees.

The solution to broadening private, individual ownership of America's future capital wealth requires that the Federal Reserve stop monetizing unproductive debt, including bailouts of banks "too big to fail" and Wall Street derivatives speculators, and begin creating an asset-backed currency that could enable every man, woman and child to establish a Capital Homestead Account or "CHA" (a super-IRA or asset tax-shelter for citizens) at their local bank to acquire a growing dividend-bearing stock portfolio to supplement their incomes from work and all other sources of income. Policies need to insert American citizens into the low or no-interest investment money loop to enable non- and undercapitalized Americans, including the working class and poor, to build wealth and become "customers with money." The proposed Capital Homestead Act would produce this result.

US health insurance companies operate as for-profit publicly traded companies, recently reporting record profits at the same time they deny coverage, rescind coverage, and deny claims. No other nation on the planet permits health insurance companies to profit from patient care (or lack thereof). It is the wrong model for our nation and needs to change!

Governor Beshear just vetoed HB 279, a bill that would have undermined civil liberties and allow for challenges to existing anti-discrimination Fairness laws in Covington, Lexington. Louisville, & Vicco that protect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals from employment, housing, and public accommodations discrimination. Now it goes back to the House and Senate where a simple majority could override the governor's veto. Immigration reform is not about politics. It is about the well-being of our communities, and we have a moral responsibility to fix the broken immigration system that is hurting our brothers and sisters. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that a solution should include a roadmap to citizenship for the 11 million aspiring Americans who are contributing to our society. Senator Sessions’ statement cannot go unchallenged. Tell the senator that you believe we have a moral responsibility to care about ALL our sisters and brothers.
