Reasons you should want a trimester schedule: 1) More electives 2) More credits on graduation, making students more competitive when applying to higher education. (70 minute periods make the credits work out to the state requirements) 3) There's no middle/high school mixing. (High School is then different, making it an exciting new challenge for Middle Schooler's, and something to look forward to.) 4) Classes that are 2/3 of year turn into full year in semesters, forcing students to take classes they do not enjoy for longer, and thusly creating a resistance to learning. People like change in classes for more exciting experience. 5) Tris are longer classes. Therefore students have more work time with teacher assistance and better labs. 6) Having semesters is not popular among students, or parents. This means less money is donated because of less support to school district, and commuters won't want to come, losing the district even more money. The parents of commuters and the commuters students like Vashon because it's unique, it has a ton of interesting electives, and semesters makes less uniqueness and less electives.

98% of Americans are getting short changed. Most of the wealth is in the hands of the top 2% while everyone else is struggling. Wall Street is in great shape but many Americans don't have a job or their salary doesn't come close to paying the bills. Just when it seems like things couldn't get worse the Sequester will cut more jobs and services.

I belive animals are sentient beings and deserve our protection. The killing of animals is not sport, only war is equal competition.

State of Florida is planning convert the Florida Medicaid into a prepaid plan which means that all recipients have to sign up with one of the prepaid plans. There will be a decline in the number of Medical and other related fields providers and hence the recipients will have even less choices to get much needed medical treatments. This conversion to prepaid plan is targeted to reduce the cost of the program ? Even when the Federal government is paying 100% of it ? Please do not change the Medicaid to prepaid plan.

Do you think it's right for a publicly elected official to support a racist publicly? Our Black communities are suffering more and more each day. There is very little opportunity in these communities and your support of individuals and organizations whose goal is to destroy and isolate them will not be tolerated. The people of our economically underserved communities should be one of your top priorities, instead of joining forces with racist activists to further promote the destruction of an already down trodden community contemplate what you and your office can to support its growth. Our vote counts to and you need to earn it. We don't believe it is appropriate for a to Publicly Elected Official rally in support of racist individuals or organizations. Racist has personal beliefs which are not in line with American society as a whole. A Publicly Elected Official is elected by the people of the United States of America and has a duty to represent all Americans in that capacity. Any support of racist individuals, groups or organizations on the part of a Publicly Elected Official can be viewed as special interest activity or breach of fiduciary duties by the America people.

Our CoC is just now becoming cohesive once again. We have enjoyed the leadership, due diligence and variety of services from Thurmond Consulting for the past year. We ask for support from the general fund of El Dorado County, CA in the amount of $9000 to carry us through the next 6 months while we work to explore other funding streams and support systems.

Our current Voter Initiative/Referendum Laws in Idaho uphold the public's right to have a voice in government. The State House of Representatives will soon be debating a change in this law that will put geographic restrictions on how signatures are collected. This will make Voter Initiatives more difficult and is like taking away our 2nd Amendment Rights to defend against excessive governmental control.

JMB is seeking to build an office tower in an empty lot in Century City. Why should we care? It's a LEED Platinum-certified environmental tower - the first of its kind in California! As if that weren't enough, it'll bring thousands of jobs to Los Angeles - jobs for the hard-working and hard-hit construction industry. In other words, it's a good thing!

Mr. Holley is currently one of two band directors at Thomas Dale High School. He recently received news that he is being transferred to another school. Mr. Holley has been with Thomas Dale for 8 years and has built the band program to its highest point. He has spent years and years building it to be known as the Specialty Center For Music! He is being cut from dale because the County thinks there is no need for 2 band teachers. The band program is very large and is getting 50 times larger next year. Mr. Holley does not want to leave. He is the best teacher that you can find. He has inspired so many people and has and continues to be my inspiration. Please help me save his job and take a minute to sign the petition every signature counts! THANKS!

I'm sick of my ex husband harassing, intimidating and threaten me. He has beaten me in the past and leaves bruises on his own daughter!! But the courts do nothing, cps does nothing and the police do nothing. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD AND JUSTICE SERVED?! I have had charges pressed for domestic violence, I have a ppo he still calls my family harassing them, I have brought the bruises on my child to court. Nothing was done.

First Gov. Corbett was elected by "WHO"? Then he cut education, denied free Medicaid money from the government, polluted farming communities with fracking, now he is taking our state land away and our state run liquor stores. Is there going to be a Pennsylvania that I recognize by the time we run this crook out of town? IMPEACH Gov. Corbett NOW!

There is actually a law that hides a judges or court commissioners misconduct on the bench from the public, lets change that.
