The International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) and the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), have filed a petition with the FDA to alter the definition of "milk". They are seeking to change the definition such that it will include potentially dangerous chemical sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose, without the need to list such ingredients on the label. This means that if the petition is approved, when a company lists "milk" on the label, it will automatically include chemical sweeteners such as aspartame or sucralose without being specifically listed. As a disabled senior citizen, my access to a home health aide depends on Medicaid. Refusing to expand the Medicaid program denies thousands of Texans that help and sends billions of dollars to other states. Expand Medicaid and bring the millions of dollars that Texans have paid in federal taxes back to Texas.

The auto cuts to the budget that will take effect

The US Congress is employed by the citizens of America to represent their legislative interests. Perhaps they might better serve the people; if their salaries reflected the average income of the citizens they represent. When they do a better job; average income would increase; and, they would be rewarded. When they did not do so well; they would not be paid so well. Also, this approach would make them better citizen advocates, as such would be in their own financial interest.

Congress takes entirely too many vacation days and accomplishes entirely too little for the pay we citizens provide. This should change.
