Over the last few months, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett has indicated that he has no intention of accepting new federal dollars to expand the state's Medicaid program. If he rejects these funds, over 542,000 Pennsylvanians will be uninsured. In recent months, Republican governors across the country have been changing their minds and accepting Medicaid dollars. Corbett has no excuse now and is doing nothing more than hurting those most in need in Pennsylvania. Tell Governor Corbett to accept federal Medicaid dollars and protect the over 542,000 Pennsylvanians that would benefit.

Basic Congressional Reform which forces Congress to personally feel the effects of both its actions and inactions is critical to our democracy. Congress can not be separated by entitlements and laws which are different from the rest of American citizens.

A constitutional amendment requiring public funding of presidential and congressional campaigns will eliminate the special interest money from politics and allow congress to work for All the people of the nation.

Let's stop big money and interests from owning our legislators. Our Elected Officials are PUBLIC SERVANTS, and should behave as such. They should not vote against the common good of all the people in favor of giving special consideration (including tax breaks, reductions in fines, etc). If a Legislator receives significant donations (in excess of $50,000 from ANY person, Corporation, PAC, or Special Interest group, they SHALL NOT be eligible to vote on any legislation that pertains to the said person, Corporation, PAC, or Special Interest group. Legislators who are found to have done so should be stripped of their Elected office and any benefits of that office. Criminal Conviction should be considered if it is found that the Legislator voted against the wishes of his constituents.

Suspend Pay: CONGRESSIONAL SEQUESTRATION SUPPORTERS WHO: Any Congress-person allowing our budget to lapse, resulting in a National 'Fiscal Cliff' action to happen. WHAT: Immediate suspension of any and all forms of Pay, Salary, Benefits that Congress-person receives from government funding. Non-financial benefits - Travel, telephone, mailing/franking, meals, and any other 'perks' resultant or received as benefits of position shall be immedately suspended. WHY: If the fedrally-employed person is unable or unwilling to perform the materially substantial aspects of employment - namely, establishing a timely congressional spending budget - then any and all remuneration for employment shall be immediately suspended. Congressperson MUST be present at place of Business - Washington, DC - to even be considered 'working'.

Sapelo Island, Ga is home to one the last historic Geechee/Gullah communities in the entire United States. McIntosh County sent out notices in which they raised property tax rates upwards 500%-1,000% on Island residents; most of whom are older/retired & live on fixed incomes. We should all be concerned because this shouldn't happen in America. Sapelo Island's culture is truly the last of a very important part of not only African-American history; but also American history. The Sapelo community of Hog Hammock is currently on the federal National Registry of Historic Places through the US Dept of Interior, but this hasn't stopped the county government of McIntosh from raising taxes at a rate they know Sapelo's residents & descendants alike aren't able to pay.

The members of Congress were elected to represent the views of the majority of Americans, and enact legislation for our benefit. Government OF the People, BY the People, and FOR the People. If they don't do their job they should not receive a paycheck.

I lost 2 nephews to gun shootings from 2002 to 2009 , also 1 nephew was shot 3 times 2012 and survived . 3 cousins shoot to death 2008 to 2012 . I ASKED state legislator who talked to other elected officials in 2006 to 2010 to get state police to patrol the mon valley streets ,nothing happened. mon valley has a avg of 19 black on black deaths each year with a 5% close rate. THE police and community need help from the State Legislators and governor that have state police sitting in state police cars just 8 to 10 miles away from these high crime areas.
