Together for a Safe Santa Cruz CountyToday, members of our community are rightly concerned about our public safety - including property crimes, gun violence, drug abuse, homelessness, and untreated mental-illness. Fear and frustration from these very real issues lead to ineffective reactive responses, quick-fix solutions and the scapegoating of the most vulnerable populations in our community. These reactions do not lead to the effective and sustainable solutions that Santa Cruz County needs to truly solve these problems. It is time to find another way. Many groups in our community are working to create a safe and healthy community. But no one individual, organization or group has the definitive answer. By signing this declaration, we are saying as a community that we want to work together in transparent and solution-focused collaboration for a healthier and safer Santa Cruz County. You can also visit the Together for a Safe Santa Cruz County website at www.togetherscc.com for more information.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Megan Joseph

Gov. Beshear: Amend KY's Expungement StatutesIn today's struggling economy, we all know how challenging it is to gain employment, even more so if your criminal background check does not return spotless to HR. KRS 431.078 has made it increasingly difficult for citizens to expunge misdemeanor charges by increasing processing fees and prohibiting the expungement of a misdemeanor even if you only have minor traffic violations 5 years prior to or anytime after the conviction sought to have expunged.74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Russell

Raise the Minimum Wage to $9 / hrThe Minimum Wage in America is currently $7.25 an hour. If the minimum wage had just stayed even with inflation since 1968 it would now be $10.56 an hour. Raising it to $9 is only fair. That’s $18,720 a year for someone working a 40-hour workweek, just above the poverty line for a family of three.14,623 of 15,000 SignaturesCreated by Jacob Kornbluth

MaineCare for College StudentsThis petition is about college students loosing their MaineCare when they have limited sources of income as they are trying to benefit their lives. It is tough to know that I am 20 years old and almost to the age where I will get dropped from my insurance. The fact that they are dropping the age to 19 is making it even tougher on college students. Think before changing the age of MaineCare. Please, college is expensive enough without having to pay for school insurance which has its limitations.20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kapricemari Tompkins

Amendd IC 35-42-3.5This law needs to be re-examined. First, the statue of limitations is two years for victims to seek retribution. There should be no statute of limitations. Secondly, victims of human trafficking should not have a felony on their record, a fact the state of Michigan has just supported. Felons will not be able to get a well-paying job and will have no choice but to go back to their pimp and face unspeakable punishment/s from him/her.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by stephanie polito

Retinstate $15 billion to CA Health and Human ServicesIn the past 3 years the state of CA has cut $15 billion in services to the most vulnerable low income disabled and elderly. Cuts to programs such as In Home Support Services for the home bound and disabled and Medi-Cal (Medicaid in CA), have brought devastating results. I suffer from non-HIV AIDS and have lost long time good care caregivers as a result of the cuts. Because of this loss I contracted a severe skin parasite as I had to turn to an unqualified volunteer to help me who was not conscientious about telling me if he had anything contagious wrong with him. Also due to the privatization of MediCal into managed care I no longer have a doctor as the managed care company does not allow home visits as I am completely home bound.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sumitra
