Our Congress and Senate cannot operate unencumbered by the overpowering needs and wants of corporations and organizations that are governed by profit. As a result, meaningful legislation that is structured for the benefit of individual citizens cannot compete with the needs and wants of wealthy donors to the two major parties. This situation has negatively affected my welfare as it has negatively effected all citizens and compromised the future of our Great Country. We cannot hope to get reliable information about the need for new legislation nor can we hope to get needed legislation to pass that is designed to benefit ordinary citizens if it conflicts in any way with the bottom line of wealthy corporations. This situation is a set-up for the failure of our Democracy.

Anyone with a concealed carry gun permit is currently allowed to carry on the campus of all state-supported universities and colleges. A bill will soon arrive on Governor Hickenlooper's desk that will add campuses to the list of places where concealed carry is banned, like K through 12 schools. There is more to this than the safety issue resulting from a mix of guns and often highly emotional young adults. A major issue is the toxic atmosphere that would ensue if guns might be present during heated classroom debates or when an emotional student is given a failing grade. The classroom is no place for guns. The governor should sign this bill.

Union Pacific wants to build a railyard on some prime agricultural land in the Brazos Valley in Robertson County. The Railyard should be moved closer to city of Hearne near Hwy 6 not near valuable Farm land that grows cotton, corn milo wheat,and soybeans that has family farmed since early 1900's.

Since our big issue now is mental health, we should focus on those who harm animals. Statistics have proven those who harm animals are more likely to harm others. Dog fighting is senseless and heinous. Increase punishment for these acts to promote deterrence.

I am a parent/advocate for children and adults with special needs. My son currently has an IPAD purchased by a family member. My son has dsygraphia, meaning his handwriting will never surpass that of a kindergardener hand writing. Since having an IPAD his math, socal studies skills, social skilss etc have drastically improved. I petition that schools budget for special eduation to provide every special needs child with an IPAD. This would greatly improve their educational and social skills to prepare them for the world once they are out of the special education system.

In conclusion, make it a liablility if your weapon is used in a crime with or without you consent. These so-called gun-enthusiashts need to "belly-up" and be more responsible with the general pubic. We Advocate for the preservation of West Hayden Island, as a state park to give people access to nature and preserve wildlife. Port of Portland wants the city of Portland to annex W. Hayden Is. so that the Port can turn W. Hayden Is. into a parking lot and industrial area. The Port already has sites that are unused. Audubon, Sierra Club, Oregon and Washington Indian Tribes and Metro residents have voiced opposition to development of this site, one of the last remaining, highly diverse natural areas on the Columbia River in the Portland, Oregon Metro Area.

This is primarily a woman's health issue. Lambskin condoms remain popular (even though they cost 5 times more than latex condoms) because it feels as if one is not wearing a condom. The problem is the common off-label use injures the naive sex partner. These condoms provide zero protection against STDs. The problem is that women seldom read the tiny print on a condom wrapper (in english) before consenting to sex. Women are easily duped into believing that they are protected. This is distinguished from other products used in an off label manor in that the injury occurs to an innocent person. The injury in the instance of HIV can be life-threatening.
