  • PRAYER BACK IN SCHOOLS
I'm concerned that people have lost their way in this world especially in the united states where they decided to take prayer out of the schools. i believe that we should get prayer back in the school. let us focus on one our amemndments "Freedom of Religion." i don't believe people are given the opportunity to practice that phrase. especially when they can't brethe a word of prayer in school. but whenever something tragic happens they are ready to call on God and ask america to pray. we need the prayer back in the school.

  • State Aid to Public Schools
For four years in a row, the governor has used a "Gap Elimination Adjustment" to remove millions of dollars in "promised" State Aid to public schools in New York. What's worse is that this adjustment is not based on community wealth factors so poorer schools get hurt more than wealthier schools.

  • INCREASE MENTAL HEALTH FUNDING
Hospitals and out-patient clinics are drastically underfunded in Idaho. I have. 23 years experience as a psychiatric nurse and I have watched the revolving door for admissions spin faster and faster because of inadequate funding for out-patient services. Mental illness is on the national radar right now and this presents a chance for Idaho to lead on this issue.

  • STOP the sale of ROCK SALT
Since people sprinkle rock salt on sidewalks, it can damage the pads on the bottom of a dog's paws. As a result, the dog may lick the harmful salt from its paws resulting in burns to its mouth and throat. Repeated ingestion of rock salt can also lead to kidney problems or pancreatitis.

  • Federal Policy on Firearm Background Checks
I believe it is time for us to have a federal policy, applicable to all states and territories, concerning background checks for the purchase of any firearm. Leaving it to the states alone creates too many loopholes.

This will also require the schools to spend money on new text books on or including Intelligent Design. Tell the MO Legislature NO on HB 291.

  • Put Workers First in N.C.
Unemployment benefits. With unemployment being high in North Carolina it is not the time to cut benefits, especially when labor isn't allowed in the debate. The State legislature and The N.C. Chamber of Commerce(unions of business) is deciding this. All parties are not included. Let's stand up against big business deciding what's best for us.

  • Repeal the Second Amendment
Having worked in inner-city schools, lived in several big cities, I believe everyone in the United States is adversely affected by unfettered gun culture. I learned to shoot a rifle at 12 when I was admitted into the NRA. It shapes your values, and in some ways, even warps them, giving people a false sense of pride and security. The invocation of patriotism in defense of the Second Amendment is not only often hysterical, it is simply deluded, as legal firearms by themselves do not have the capability of posing a violent political challenge to the agents of the United States Federal Government. In fact, if "freedom" is used as the last argument to defend the Second Amendment, well then, those that would abuse "freedom" in this manner are also likely to ignore all law. I think it's important that people who have NOT been directly affected by gun violence speak up on this issue. That's why I'm speaking up. All firearms, except for registered antiques, should be manufactured, without exception, to have fingerprint technology which recognizes only one gun owner's handgrip at a time, and GPS technology which instantly provides law enforcement the geographic position and time when a firearm is ever again discharged. The Second Amendment is an obstacle to putting all the technologies of government surveillance on gun owners. It is just a law. Harmful laws should be repealed. What could be more logical?
