Descendants of Slaves vs Florida Board of EducationFlorida is proposing to introduce curriculum that corrodes historic truths of slavery regarding the treatment and savagery of white slave owners during slavery. Law makers want to replace the truth with delusional rhetoric that states “slavery benefited black people”. Censoring and insinuating that slavery was a benefit to anyone other than those that profited is wrong, harmful, disrespectful and should not be permitted. This same principle, if applied to Holocaust descendants, would be considered antisemitic. We, the descendants of American Slaves, seek the same justice and demand that this teaching be outlawed.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tiffany Tate

Demand Dignity at Our Borders, End Operation Lonestar!BREAKING: This week it was revealed that Texas Troopers severely violated the human rights of migrants seeking safety in the U.S. by denying them drinking water & literally pushing them back into the Rio Grande. This inhumane treatment was ordered by TX. Governor Abbot as a continuation of his administration’s anti-immigrant project Operation Lonestar by working closely with ICE & CBP to detain, abuse, and deport immigrants. In addition to his stunts of bussing of migrants out to other states, his administration has now installed razor wire barriers in the water of the Rio Grande that injure and make crossing much more dangerous. People including children, pregnant women, and babies have suffered serious injury & death as a result of these cruel tactics employed by Gov. Abbot’s administration. President Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas must act now to stop these human rights violations and provide relief to those who have suffered under TX Gov. Abbot’s abuse! They must investigate this and put an end to this abuse NOW! ADD YOUR NAME to demand President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas investigate and correct the treatment of migrants at our borders and offer relief to those who have suffered from Governor Abbott's actions!26,383 of 30,000 SignaturesCreated by Nestor Ruiz

Make 6th & San Pedro a Skid Row Climate Center Location! As of today [August 1, 2023] there is (1) "Climate Center" located on Towne Ave across from the HHCLA ReFresh Spot. This location has been up nearly year-round so it's not new, nor is it in the area with the highest foot traffic (highest need). This is not sufficient for the thousands of Skid Row residents who struggle with water insecurity. Even with the (6) public-use water fountains and (3) WaterBox devices (located inside private organizations so, not public-use), they are often dirty or broken so the unhoused, housing-insecure, and otherwise low-income Skid Row residents are forced to rely on bottled water given by infrequent volunteer groups or other, more unhealthy, illegal, and potentially dangerous solutions like tapping into fire hydrants. The (4) cooling center locations from Summer 2021 were a huge hit, yet funding for the next year was halved and the (2) centers approved for Summer 2022 were placed in remote locations. The metrics speak for themselves, and the Skid Row community wants the original (4) "Climate Center" locations back for Summer 2023, including (and especially) the location at 6th & San Pedro St. IF YOU CURRENTLY LIVE OR WORK IN SKID ROW, LOS ANGELES: Please sign this petition and join us in telling the offices of LA City Mayor, Karen Bass; Skid Row Strategies Director, Jarvis Emerson; and LA City Councilmember, Kevin DeLeon to 1) expedite the implementation of the APPROVED 2023 "Climate Center" program in Skid Row, and 2) one of the four locations should be at the corner of 6th & San Pedro St.134 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kendall Moran

By allowing timely interviews, students can start their academic journey on schedule and have an equal chance to excel alongside their peers. 2. Academic Success: Timely interview dates directly contribute to the academic success of students. Starting classes on time enables students to fully engage with the curriculum, participate in class discussions, and establish a strong foundation for their studies. Petition for Privacy Fences - Pulte Highlands of AddisonGiven the severity of these issues and their impact on our lives, we kindly request that the Homeowner Association take immediate action to address this matter. Our proposed solution is the option for the homeowner to install 6 ft privacy fences, we can all agree on a style (wood or vinyl) & color (white, all the homes have white gutters to match) to make it look uniform. This will provide a physical barrier to deter unauthorized access and ensure our safety and privacy. We understand that implementing such changes requires careful consideration, including obtaining necessary permits and adhering to any local regulations. However, we believe that the urgency and seriousness of these incidents warrant an expedited process.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Vito Roppo

Fight for RightsOthers should join our fight for rights! Prisoners in Missouri were given the right to an attorney. If they cannot afford one, one is appointed to them. So why is this right not given to the ones under guardianship? A psychiatric evaluation after a year in a locked facility will show the progress of one's health. Placing them in front of a Judge will get the courts more involved with their cases. When placed in a 24 hour 7 days a week locked down facility you are not given any amount of time that you will be in this facility. It could be a year it could be 12+ years. Prisoners are given an out date, but the non-criminal mentally ill are not given this right.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Katelynn Wood

Against Piqua Rental ProgramWe want to make piqua ohio a better community but a rental program that is in violation of tenant privacy, and also landlord rights is very much uncalled for. There are better ways to solve the "slumlord" problem that they claim to want taken care of. This program is not how that will be solved. Many families cannot afford their rent to be raised. Rent is at an all time high especially for such a small town in ohio. We realize the problem, but we would like to take a different course of action to get this community back on track. There are too many problems that will occur with this rental program. We need more than 3 minutes a piece to explain why this is a bad idea. 3 minutes is NOT ENOUGH. We, The citizens of Piqua Ohio, can and will come up with a better plan to fix this community for the better regarding all aspects. Please consider listening to the citizens and not just make up your mind because that's the easier option for you. We don't want anyone to struggle anymore than they have to. We can plan and propose new ideas to solve the underlying issue. But invading our privacy will not be taken lightly as we've seen city wide that the majority of the citizens do not agree with this program what so ever. Personally I would love to get involved with this community more and do something good for it as I have never been to a city meeting, nor have I been able to contribute because I don't know the steps to do so, but I'm willing to learn, to be able to help the community in a much safer, responsible, non invasionional way. Just as alot of us would also agree. Please consider listening to the citizens rather than letting them rant on your podiums. This rental program is an extremely bad idea for all parties involved. It is a waste of money, and if people really had that much of an issue with their homes, they would get up and actually do something about it.
