Stop Marcellus William's executionUnless we get enough signatures, an innocent Missouri man is set to be executed tomorrow (Tuesday, September 24th, 2024). The DNA evidence present on the knife used against the victim is not that of Marcellius Williams, and therefore, exculpatory. Both informants stood to benefit from their cooperation with prosecutors, and that their stories sometimes changed or conflicted with other details about the killing. Furthermore, according to USA Today (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/09/23/missouri-execution-marcellus-williams-death-row/75194051007/) during the Aug. 28 hearing, the retired prosecutor who handled the case admitted evidence was mishandled in the 1998 trial that could have exonerated Williams Please sign now so that Marcellius William's conviction must be overturned and he be exonerated.197 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Saeed Akbani

Morgan County Economic Development Association Destroyed Endangered Species in Morgan County, AlToo many developers destroy ecosystems when it’s very easy and not costly to preserve green belts. We rely on plants and healthy ecosystems for clean water, air, and food. Destruction of ecosystems puts stress on the public during inclement weather. It increases the likelihood of flooding and decreases forage for deer and other wildlife. This was a valuable ecosystem with at least one federally endangered plant species. We will not know what we lost because this was never studied.58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jessica Rogala

Jack Daniels Pours Diversity Down the Drain. Tell the CEO & Chair to Step Down!LGBTQ+ people, people of color and women are core customers of Brown-Forman. Yet their leadership has said it's going to abandon DEI goals and plans for employees AND suppliers, cut diversity training and more. They won't even participate in a SURVEY about equality their workplace. In other words, they want to take our money and give nothing back. Our communities must stop drinking from this company until its CEO Lawson Whiting and Chair resigns and this company brings back its DEI efforts.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Qommittee for Drag

Park Name Change from Ellis to Ida B. WellsThis former CHA Housing Development which was demolished in 2011, was a special place for many former residents named in honor of this courageous, nationally/internationally historic figure, a Crusader for Justice, Ida B. Wells Although it was called "the ghetto by some and projects by others", it was a closely knit, caring and protective community that produced respected educators, world renowned musical geniuses, a scientist, business owners, major league athletes, government officials, industry leaders and many achievers with successful careers in this city, state and country. Renaming this community park where many of us enjoyed leisure time, sports and family activities is our " collective contribution " to the memory and honor of Ida B. Wells for whom our housing development was named , a special place and connection to the land where our roots run deep...lest we forget.56 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Yusuf Hasan

City Of Calera: Acceptance of Ridgecrest RoadThe group JRock Development, which originally submitted the plan for the two phases of this development, went out of business between 2008 and 2010. The remaining lots were foreclosed on and sold to a bank. They were then bought by a builder who finished building out the neighborhood. Ridgecrest Road was never completed and only has a base layer. No one has assumed responsibility for this street. We are banding together to request the city accept this street as a public street, perform an assessment, and perform any necessary repairs. The road needs to be properly graded, and the street floods during heavy rains. The city no longer holds the bond the developer had to get as part of the approval process. We are in limbo and asking our fellow citizens of Calera to help us get the City Council's attention and ask them to help working-class families in their community18 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alan Rouse

Oglala Sioux Tribe Rapid City DistrictGranting voting power to the Oglala Sioux Tribe Rapid City District is important for several reasons: 1. Representation and Equity. Members of the Rapid City District are a vital part of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, and their voices deserve to be heard in decisions that affect their lives. Voting power ensures that their unique needs and perspectives are represented in tribal governance. 2. Self-Determination. The ability to participate in decision-making processes is a fundamental aspect of self-determination. It empowers the Rapid City District to actively shape policies, programs, and initiatives that impact their community, aligning with the broader values of tribal sovereignty. 3. Community Engagement: Allowing the Rapid City District to vote fosters greater engagement and involvement in tribal affairs. This can lead to more informed and inclusive decision-making, as a broader range of viewpoints and experiences are considered. 4. Fairness and Inclusivity. Granting voting power ensures that all members of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, regardless of where they live, are treated fairly and equally. It prevents the marginalization of district members and promotes inclusivity in the governance process. 5. Stronger Governance. When all parts of the Tribe have a say in decisions, it strengthens the overall governance structure. It leads to more balanced and well-rounded decisions that reflect the diverse interests of the entire Tribe. 6. Cultural and Community Continuity. The Rapid City District plays an essential role in preserving and promoting Oglala Lakota culture and traditions in an urban setting. Having voting power supports their efforts to maintain cultural continuity and ensure that their community's needs are met. Overall, granting voting power to the Rapid City District is not just about representation—it's about ensuring that the entire Oglala Sioux Tribe moves forward together, with all voices heard and respected.25 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Marie Zephier
