Retired Workers Need Their FULL Social Security BenefitsRetired workers are on limited income, social security is the largest part for a vast majority of them. These people paid for and were promised these benefits long ago. They need these benefits to survive. Social Security does NOT make anyone well off, they barely get by now. These cuts must be stopped and the constant usage of this money by our government for other purposes must be stopped now.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bruce Harris

Cuts to Social SecurityThose on Social Security certainly do not need a cut in benefits. Many now have to make a choice between food and medication. Why do we take from the poor and elderly in our society and not tax the wealthy appropriately. This should not even be up for discussion and should be off the table for any type of discussion.360 of 400 SignaturesCreated by F. Social Security/Medicare protection amendmentPaul Ryan is trying to take social security away from people who have paid into the system for many years. President Obama is considering changes to the system as an option to negotiate with Ryan and others. This should be a violation of law as many people are unable to save more for retiremtent and have no choice but to rely on Social Security and Medicare. This is a binding legal contract and no government official should have the ability to change any aspect of it. Younger people, who have not contributed enough to qualify for benefits have other options but those of us in our 50's have limited ability because we have been forced to pay into a system which is now under attack by both republicans and democrats alike. Simply put, anyone (like me) who has contributed suffidcient funds into Social Security and Medicare and have recieved a statement from said administration declaring that they have contributed enough to qualify for benefits, would have that statement considered to be a binding legal contract, which cannot be changed in any way, by anyone, including congrss and the President.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James W. Fiscal Cliff: No Cuts to the Poor or ElderlyPresident Obama we elected you to save America not to compromise with big corporations and over-lobbied Republicans. Keep the promises that got you elected, it is a sacred trust not an arbitrary action to be diluted by compromises to the wealthiest sector.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Bidleman

Social Security Is Not The ProblemSocial Security benefits have been reduced by 40% over the past 30 years. Every President has falsely claimed that it needs saving or it will go broke. Let's stop the lies right now. Social Security for people should be funded just like destructive wars, from the General Funds Account of the Treasury.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert Bostick

Dick's Sporting: Rifle Sales SuspensionDick's Sporting Goods suspended sales of modern sporting rifles in respect for Sandy Hook victims. We would like to thank them for their leadership and request that they continue this suspension, and that they continue to work with citizens, other retailers, and law-makers in working for a safer country for all of us.32 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Karen Hausdoerffer

Oppose Social Security Cuts CompromisePresident Obama has offered the Republicans a compromise Social Security cuts deal that would cut Social Security benefits by more than 5% and leave in place some of the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% of the wealthiest U.S. citizens. This means that people like me depending upon Social Security for survival would suffer critical cuts in benefits that provide food, medicines, and other essentials.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rand Lee

SAVE SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, EDUCATION FUNDINGAs a Senior Citizen on fixed income, I cannot afford to have Social Security and/or Medicare funds cut. Our schools need necessary funding in order to prepare our children for the future... These cuts will serously affect the children and the elderly. STOP THESE CUTS!118 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Marilyn E. Torain

Do not cut Social SecurityI depend on my Social Security benefits, and there are many more people like me. They say people are living longer so they could raise the age when benefits are received. The problem is, it is the wealthy who live longer, not the poor and middle class. Protect our safety net.682 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Laurice Jamieson
