We are committed Vashon cyclists: we love the island because it is so bike-friendly. This fall however, with the installation of rumble strips, multiple riders have had dangerous accidents, and some have been hospitalized(1). The crazy thing is that Vashon was penalized for these things! However, as a result of the broad support shown for the Safe Routes to School project, King County DOT and Washington DOT have agreed to work together to forge a new and better plan for bike and pedestrian pathways in the vicinity of the Vashon schools. Hydraulic Fracturing is an issue going on all around the nation. Shale gas is the next best thing for America relieving us of our dependence on foreign oil. But to do so by trampling the health of the citizens is NOT okay! We have a fundamental right to clean air and water. We have a right not to be burdened by earthquakes cause by the fracturing of underground shale! We deserve to be free from harmful chemicals and radiation in our own drinking water. I know people who have been personally affected by it and when I heard it would start in Ohio, I became very scared. I have done a lot of research on the topic including one on why do so is unethical. It pains me to read about what has happened to people. The health of the citizens needs to come above natural gas.

This petition is about the 500 million animals that are inhumanely killed, burned, injected with diseases, given drugs, and many other gruesome inhumane things. This is going on all around the world and animals are being mistreated and killed. I'm an animal lover and someone going into a field to help save their lives, and this is very disturbing and very heart felt. I hope that there are people out there who care about there poor animals well-being and wish to stop these cruel acts.
