Balancing the budget on wall street trades rather than on changes to Social Security or Medicare ...charging $1.00 per stock traded on wall street .The wall street people are the one;s that created the the near depression we have been going through, why not charge them for the deficits rather than looking at medicare or social security which neither had anything to do with the deficits we are running and are both solvent for years to come.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tom Garlock

Dow Constantine: Bring bike lanes to VashonWe are committed Vashon cyclists: we love the island because it is so bike-friendly. This fall however, with the installation of rumble strips, multiple riders have had dangerous accidents, and some have been hospitalized(1). Cyclists and pedestrians should be a top priority in all King County as well as on Vashon, the rumble strips should be paved over and bike lanes should be added on the highway and on the roads around the schools. http://signon.org/sign/dow-constantine-bring Dow Constantine and King County need to hear our support for this loud and clear. Sadly, Vashon did not rank high enough on the recent WA D.O.T. Safe Routes to School project list to be eligible to receive funding for 2 reasons: 1. We do not have sufficient barriers between bike/pedestrian pathways and roadways. 2. We've had very few accidents (car vs. pedestrian or car vs. cyclist) compared to the other communities. The crazy thing is that Vashon was penalized for these things! However, as a result of the broad support shown for the Safe Routes to School project, King County DOT and Washington DOT have agreed to work together to forge a new and better plan for bike and pedestrian pathways in the vicinity of the Vashon schools. Will they follow through? They will if they see how many of us support this! We need everyone's help: can you pass this initiative on to your friends who support cycling, walking, hiking and running on our roads? http://signon.org/sign/dow-constantine-bring Thanks! Ban Hydraulic Fracturing in the state of Ohio, and be an example across the country.Hydraulic Fracturing is an issue going on all around the nation. Shale gas is the next best thing for America relieving us of our dependence on foreign oil. But to do so by trampling the health of the citizens is NOT okay! We have a fundamental right to clean air and water. We have a right not to be burdened by earthquakes cause by the fracturing of underground shale! We deserve to be free from harmful chemicals and radiation in our own drinking water. I know people who have been personally affected by it and when I heard it would start in Ohio, I became very scared. I have done a lot of research on the topic including one on why do so is unethical. It pains me to read about what has happened to people. The health of the citizens needs to come above natural gas.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Olivia Compton

Hit hard by Sandy, then again by NYCHAIn the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, thousands of low- and fixed-income public housing residents were trapped in storm-damaged buildings — without power, heat or running water — for up to three weeks. Yet the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) expects rent payments upfront and in full, acknowledging no responsibility for the serious health, safety and financial toll its negligence continues to take on residents.99 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matt Nelson

Stop Animal CrueltyThis petition is about the 500 million animals that are inhumanely killed, burned, injected with diseases, given drugs, and many other gruesome inhumane things. This is going on all around the world and animals are being mistreated and killed. I'm an animal lover and someone going into a field to help save their lives, and this is very disturbing and very heart felt. I hope that there are people out there who care about there poor animals well-being and wish to stop these cruel acts. Hopefully one day we can make it possible for harsher laws to be put upon these disturbing and cruel acts.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amber C Steinhilber

Higher Education For Americans Should Be Affordable Not ExorbitantThe costs of college tuition have been increasing each year and many lower class Americans have been hindered in their journey to higher education. How are Americans, that are already working full-time to afford high living expenses, expected to pay exorbitant rates for education meant to help or better themselves? HIgher education is important and should be affordable to all levels of Americans wanting to increase their knowledge and situation.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brittany Caro
