• New Mexico Drivers Licenses for US Citizens only
    * NOTE: As of Dec 2012, Dept of Homeland Security and Transportation (TSA) officials announced that the policy requiring REAL ID standardized identification would be delayed past the January 15, 2013 deadline. NM is only one of 2 states still issuing drivers licenses to illegal (undocumented) aliens. The Real ID Act became law in 2005. The Dept of Homeland of Security has extended the deadline for NM many times already. As of Jan 15, 2013* NMDL's will not be valid as US identification, and domestic travelers will be required to carry US Passports. If the New Mexico State Legislature does not create/repeal legislation during the next legislative session beginning Jan 15, 2013 then you can expect to pay $200/adult for a US Passport to travel within your own country. This insanity must end in Santa Fe in January. Learn more at http://zpr.co/nmdl/realid/

  • Climate Change - Action Now
Climate change. The costs of energy we consume does not properly reflect the costs to our land, water and air. There should be a carbon tax on the sources of energy: coal, oil, gas which damage our enviroment the most.

  • Reform the Filibuster
The Senate is broken. But still some Democratic Senators are resisting filibuster reform. We need to make sure that all 55 of the Democratic Senators support reforming the filibuster when the new congress convenes.

  • Same Sex Marriage in Utah
I support making allowing same-sex marriage in Utah and making sexual orientation a protected class. I have been affected by this with some of my jobs here in Utah but no one will help me fight against it because sexual orientation is not a protected class here in Utah.

  • Employee Rights
To ensure that all employees are treated fairly, all company's (public or private) are held to the same standard, and employee wages compensate for the increase in prices of the economy all company's should be mandate to give their employees a 5 % raise every year if they receive a satisfactory employee evaluation. This would be a federal and state mandate and would be based on employee evaluations. If the employee receives anything below fair the company would let the employee go. If they receive a fair then the company would still be mandated to give a raise but a lower percentage determined by the company but no less than 2 %.

  • Gov. Rendell should leave Fix the Debt
I just learned that the former Governor of PA, Ed Rendell, is the co-chair of a group of corporate leaders trying to cut my Social Security and Medicare, along with cutting Medicaid for low income women and children. Fix the Debt, a group funded by a billionaire with a council of CEO's, is spewing misinformation about Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid so that these programs get cut instead of wealthy paying their fair share of taxes. I think it is wrong for any former elected official to stand alongside corporate leaders calling for earned benefits to cut, especially a Democrat. Gov. Rendell should leave Fix the Debt immediately, and commit zero cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. http://www.fixthedebt.org/who-we-are
