Applying for EDD is a large headache for many disabled citizens in California. I am one of them. You have to call the 800 number at least 60 times or more to get a customer service rep. Once you get them online. The are rushed to do their jobs to meet a quota it seems, so they give out flawed and untrue information to the caller. I have had several reps, tell me 25 statements about receiving the debit card. None were true. The landlord was trying to evict me from my apartment, I had to call the electrical company and beg them not to turn of my electricity. Friends had to loan me monies for food and gas so I could get to the doctors for treatment. I wrote the Governor, called the Governors office several times, they were nice enough to put me through to the Executive Office of EDD, I would leave a message, no one will call you back. I call the Governor's office again, they put me through to the executive EDD office and stayed on the line with me and made sure someone answered, they did and ask for my social security number and and my name and said that they would have someone call me back that day. No one never called me and it is weeks later. I had to fax a letter to the Governor's office with other documents to prove what I was complaining about. I filed for EDD in September and it is November, I still haven't received the debit card yet.

Just as many media personalities refer to Our President as "Obama" without the appropriate respectful prefix, the healthcare reforms enacted in the Affordable Care Act have been disparaged as "Obamacare". It is time for this to stop. We're calling on all media outlets to stop using the President's name in a derogatory fashion and refer to the Health Care reform respectfully, and as it is actually named -- the Affordable Care Act. The nation watched while House Republicans tried for the last four years to make President Obama fail, and in the process became known as the Party of No. This election cycle, due to Republican pledges and promises, they have also come to be seen as a party that favors the rich. Furthermore, the Republican's choice of Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney, a man whose honesty reasonable people do well to question, was rejected by the American people. Obama's clear win demonstrates that the majority of Americans want him to succeed in fulfilling the promises he made. He has a clear mandate from the people to make sure the wealthy pay a greater share and that taxes are not raised on the middle and lower classes, in addition to other mandates, such as the enactment of health care reform.

The American people have voted, and it is time for the people who are elected to Congress to stop neglecting their responsibilities for the American people and work with our President and help make this country better. We will not sit and allow the next four years to be sabotaged by hate, greed and disrespect. We, the American people demand that Congress stop playing with American people through childish games and represent our country by giving the American people what they want and that is to work with our intelligent, compromising and capable president and meet the countries needs.

Some have said that they enjoy the extra hour of sunlight that Daylight Saving Time provides. However, you can’t cut the bottom off a blanket and sew it to the top to make it longer! We will have more sunlight in the summer regardless of what the clock says. Daylight Saving Time disrupts our natural rhythms, and studies have shown that when we change the clocks, there are more car accidents, more heart attacks, and more energy use. This archaic practice is useless and irrelevant in modern times, since we use computers, televisions, and even artificial lighting during daylight hours. Let’s stop accepting this madness and do something to end it! For the past 4 years since the Tea Party has come into power all we've done is spin our wheels.

Walter Robb, you voted yes on Prop 37 (http://bit.ly/WIQsKR), thank you. Unfortunately it failed because our side was outspent by corporations who make some of the products you sell. Mr. Robb & Mr. Mackey, why would you continue to give these corporations your money by selling us their products which they refuse to label? I'm not going to buy them, certainly, but my voice alone will not be heard above Monsanto's. But many voices together will be heard, especially if Whole Foods' is one of those voices.

Enough with partisan politics in Washington. It is time to get something done. I don't want to hear about the "fiscal cliff," I want to hear about how you are going to work together to prevent it. SIX BILLION dollars was spent on the 2012 campaign, and no one seems to see a problem with this? It's not about getting elected, it's about FIXING THE PROBLEMS this country has. Compromise is the only way to move forward. Name calling, finger pointing, etc. is a waste of time and taxpayer money.
