• 62 full Retirement
I would like to see full retirement from social security at 62 not 67 . I think it should be up to the person whether they keep working or stay retired. Many people are worn out in their early 60's so lets get the retirement age down to where it should be.

A referendum should be proposed to eliminate the Electoral College and permit citizens to elect the President and Vice President by a simple majority vote.

  • Healthcare Providers: Publish Your Prices
Healthcare Providers are not required by law to post their prices. Thus, e.g., a patient cannot know the cost covered for an X-ray. it is vital to know how much a patient may have to put out him/herself.

  • Stop Possible Electoral Sabotage in Puerto Rico
The vast majority of U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico participate in every electoral process. Normally, 70 to 80% or more of the registered voters actually vote every four years. The current Republican Governor is up for re-election and has not had a very effective term. Even as he recognizes that the people of PR are fed up with his mandate, he has expressed that he will be re-elected no matter what. This governor is already famous for working for a few and forgetting about the many. As an example, the Governor has used these past four years to give out contracts to people that paid for his current and past electoral campaign. I know of one of his friend's that used to flip burgers and now has a four (4) million dollar contract for professional services. Puerto Rico needs the intervention of the President of the United States. Elections are in just a few days, and we believe that the elections will be subjected to unwanted practices as a Power Company Strike has commenced today and this will probably be a good excuse for an electoral sabotage! They had been negotiating with the government for approximately 10 years and now starts a strike. This would not be the first time that an election would be stolen/sabotaged by the Republican back New Progressive Party.

  • Fair Standards for Health Care
Health Care I am finding it hard to pay for ever increasing health care costs even though I have worked for over 50 years. I think congress should have to be given the same choices that the American people are. They do the voting. if this was the case, we would save money and they would vote for better care for us all.

  • Community Investigation Committee into Police Harassment and Injustices
A Child (13 years old) Was assaulted by police officers in Philadelphia ,beaten for 2 mins(facts in written report). His leg is in a cast, and he has several lacerations and other non life-threatening injures to his body and face. This Child also has Autism. Footage in which a police officer appears to punch a woman after she threw something toward a group of police is causing controversy and outrage. ABC News reports, the Philadelphia police are investigating. I respect Police officers of Philadelphia who protect and serve this city well. I understand that their job can be a thankless one. They risk their lives everyday to hold citizens accountable for their actions and bring them to justice. Who holds them accountable for their actions The improper detention and unwarranted arrests,as well as the merciless beatings and injures received from officer's,sworn to protect and serve MUST TO STOP!

  • "Take back our democracy from the super-rich"
The large corporations and the super-rich give vast amounts of money to our legislators' campaigns so that they will pass laws favorable to them. They spend large amounts, also, to defeat those who are opposed to their interests. That leaves the rest of us, the 99 percent, without a voice in our government. The result is the top one percent accumulates more and more wealth, and the rest of us less and less.

  • We need to resusciate the stalled Middle-East peace process
The inability to make progress on the Middle-East peace process poses grave dangers to the parties in the region as well as the United States. For the Palestinians, continued settlement expansion in the occupied territories threatens the viability of a future Palestinian state. For the Israelis, continued settlement expansion increasingly makes it impossible to withdraw from occupied territories and may set the stage for a violent confrontation between Israel and the Arab/Muslim world.

  • Require labeling of all GMO/biotech foods
Consumers deserve to know if our food contains potentially harmful genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Thirty countries have placed restrictions on GMOs, but the U.S. doesn't even require a labeling system, much less regulate them, due to a powerful, wealthy biotech lobby.

  • Increase Tipped Wage in Tennessee
I have worked for tips as a bartender for 10 years. While the cost of living continues to rise in Tennessee, the amount people tip is steadily declining. Tipped minimum wage was set at $2.13 per hour in 1991 and has been frozen since. In 2009, federal minimum wage was increased, yet tipped wages remained the same. Since states can choose to adopt their own tipped wage, I would like to see Tennessee raise the tipped wage to $3.63 so these workers have a fair shot at making a comfortable living wage. The raise to $3.63 is based on tipped wage being half of current minimum wage.
