• It's UnAmerican to be against the improving economy
Do you believe the Republicans are dissing the lower unemployment rate? They're saying it's manipulated. They don't want the economy to improve. That is UnAmerican! It proves they don't care about you and me. In my town, we are finally seeing home prices go up. Two of my friends got jobs last month after being out of work. That's progress no matter how you look at it!

  • 66% of Alzheimer's Victims are WOMEN!
66% of caretakers are women. Women have to quit jobs to take care of their loved ones and lose what they have gained all these years in the workforce. 5.4 million people have Alzheimer's. Our country spends $200 billion on AD - most on from Medicare and Medicaid. And only $450 million on Research. It will bankrupt our country. We need more research money NOW!!!

  • The right to know what we eat
In other countries people have the right to know what they eat. Here in the US, we are not allowed to know whether our food contains genetically modified organisms. Recently new research has shown that GMOs are not as safe as Monsanto wants us to believe.

  • Fire Person Responsible For KitchenAid Tweet
Following the offensive tweet made by a KitchenAid employee which read: "Obamas gma even knew it was going 2 b bad! 'She died 3 days b4 he became president" An apology was issues and the only action taken was to say "It was carelessly sent in error by a member of our Twitter team who, needless to say, won't be tweeting for us anymore." This person needs to be terminated, there is far too much of this sort of hatred out there for a well known and respected company like KitchenAid to continue to knowingly employ such a person.

  • Give Official Recognition to the WWII Mass. Women's Defense Corps
The Massachusetts Women’s Defense Corps (MWDC) was authorized on 2 April 1941 as a state force under the jurisdiction of the Massachusetts Committee on Public Safety; a state govt. agency that coordinated civil defense during World War II. The initial concept of the MWDC was that it would conduct training for women to serve as volunteers in local Civil Defense agencies. Approximately, 18,000 women were trained for duty as air raid wardens, drivers, communications personnel, canteen workers, medics, chemical detection personnel and as emergency fire fighters. In 1942 graduates of the MWDC School were formally enlisted into the Corps and assigned ranks. MWDC personnel wore brown military-type uniforms purchased at their own expense. Personnel were assigned to companies that were organized into eight geographic battalions around the state. The average strength of the Corps was 1,600 women. The only recognition that Corps personnel received was the award of a ribbon for three years service. The story of the WDC and its service to the Commonwealth is virtually unknown.

  • Prune at the top
States are strapped for cash so they are letting go teachers police officers and other public workers. I suggest that to save money all legislators drive their own cars and buy their own gas. Sell all the state cars and helicopters. Pay the legislators the state minimum wage oly for hours actually worked (punch card)

  • Florida Responsible Recreational Cannabis Act
Although I am a noncriminal, law-abiding citizen, I am currently serving six months of the Misdemeanor Drug Court Prevention program, and although I have nothing but respect for the law and acknowledge that I have a debt to pay to society regardless of whether or not I agree with it, I can say that MDCP is the single largest waste of both our law enforcement/judicial resources and taxpayer dollars, and furthermore, given the scientific evidence that outweighs and disproves decades of government propaganda, I wish to enjoy my marijuana in the safety and comfort of my own home. I am calling on those who favor RESPONSIBLE recreational use of marijuana, through a state regulated, monitored and taxed agricultural production, distribution and retail system to sign this petition.

  • Repeal Christopher Columbus Day
Christopher Columbus should not be celebrated as a national hero. We are doing the indigenous people of our nation an injustice by observing this holiday as is.

  • Proposed 28th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
Requires members of Congress, both in the Senate and the House, to be subject to the same laws they pass for the rest of the citizens of the United States and vice versa. We have all been affected by the current laws which do not treat members of Congress the same as the average citizen.
