This is a petition to bring art, music and gym programs back into the elementary level. If your school system has done away with these programs, it would be in the childrens' best interest if you sign this online petition.

Last year, we saw one of the worst droughts in history: Reservoirs dipped to record-lows. Stretches of the Rio Grande, Brazos and Guadalupe rivers ran dry. As many as 500 million trees across Texas died. And we're not out of the woods yet: 72% of Texas is still in drought and 11 reservoirs are still less than 10 percent full. But despite these very real and current conditions, some of Texas’ most powerful industries are still wasting billions of gallons of water—a precious resource that we—and our environment—depend upon. For example, using a new drilling technique known as "fracking", oil and gas companies used 25 billion gallons of water last year in Texas, the vast majority of which was contaminated and then injected deep underground, forever removed from the hydrologic cycle.

after an unscrupulous mortgage company loaned my 82 year old husband money we went through nearly losing our home. With tenacity we went through hoops and finally after about 2 years, the house was given to us; only to learn the house was now being foreclosed on by the county for back taxes. Taxes apparantly was not being paid while we were in dispute and house was relinquished to us with about $7,000 owing on overrated taxes.

It takes my right away to vote secretly. It is costly for our government to set this in place for two reasons: costly and useless as it will not stop fraud. Pictures can be altered, addresses can be faked. Going into vote is a privilege and not to be determined who we are. Our deficit is high enough so now we want to make it worse.

Please stop blocking federal funds to cover poor, uninsured citizens through Obamacare.

As Tax Payers in the United States of America we are subjected to pay income taxes on our income. Middle Class Wage Earners have always carried the majority of the tax burden of our country and we share our payments to provide a better standard of living for all of the citizens of our beloved country, as such we feel it is only fair for all political candidates, including Mitt Romney to show their income tax returns to prove their dedication to the Values of Fairness and pride of participating in support of our shared values. Make Mitt Romney show his Tax Returns !!!

ENUF (a NIMBY organization) is trying to disempower SFMTA from making sane transportation decisions such as enabling SFMTA to extend evening and Sunday parking meters. We believe that SFMTA should instead be more aggressive in putting a market price on parking and expedite its SFPark program with funds used to improve other transporation modes in the city. SFPark is actually helpful to those drivers who actually need to drive by improving parking availability and reducing congestion due to circling for parking. Thus we believe SFMTA should aggressively pursue its expansion as it will benefit everyone.

Jan Brewer, the governor of Arizona, is obsessed with two things: immigrant bashing, and the spotlight. She's the mother of one of the worst anti-immigrant laws in the country and now she's launched a hateful attack on DREAMers. President Obama made a smart policy change to allow undocumented immigrant youth–who were brought to the U.S. as children, grew up here, and are either in school or have graduated–to apply for a work permit and relief from deportation. The move is favored by the majority of Americans and it just makes common sense. On the day that thousands of these promising young people lined up to apply, what did Gov. Brewer do? Without skipping a beat, Brewer signed an executive order directing state agencies to, among other things, deny drivers' licenses to DREAMer applicants. It's a mean-spirited and vindictive move that takes her anger with Obama out on 80,000 defenseless Arizona DREAMers. It’s time we put an end to Gov. Brewer’s hateful anti-immigrant campaign. Arizona deserves better! Please stand with the DREAMers in Arizona and join us in saying, “Shame on you, Governor Brewer!”

"Let's keep our right to vote as the party member we are and not be forced to vote as a member of another party just to vote in the County Sheriff's race" Camden County with less than 100,000 populations should have non-partisan constitutional seats. This allows everyone to vote for a candidate without choosing a party. This allows for equal voter representation throughout the County. Due to the polarization of the national election it is difficult to have local voters focus on the constitutional officers as a single race. Many voters are required to choice a different party than their own to vote in these races. This disenfranchises every voter and decreases voter participation solely because of the partisan political requirement.

Where do I stand: higher taxes or more jobs? - The tax break needed for working families (in addition to strengthening Social Security and Medicare) can be effected by removing now obsolete tax breaks for outsourcing jobs. So let's draw attention to reviving Senate bill S.3364, the Bring Jobs Home Act , as it "Hits the Nail on the Head" with what's wrong in this country.
