Rick Perry is refusing 1) federal dollars to expand Medicaid 2) healthcare exchange program. He told the nation of Fox News watchers but not on Texas' local news. Texas is 51st in the nation of people without heathcare coverage. Perry refusals are costing lives. People's lives should come first.

At a recent town hall, Congressman Joe Walsh said of my military service, "Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about. Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about." Now, I don't care what Joe Walsh says about me. I do care though what he says about our nation’s 23 million Veterans. They've served our country with honor and they deserve our respect. Moreover, at a time when so many of our brave service men and women are returning from war, it's irresponsible of Joe Walsh to try to silence Veterans by insinuating that you’re not a hero if you talk about your service to our country. Whether they're seeking civilian employment or struggling with PTSD, our Veterans need to know that it's OK to talk about their wartime experiences. Billionaires are buying public lands surrounding their private ranch Estates at fire sale prices not seen for 4 decades. Essentially this a land give away to anyone who owns a western ranch or two and can afford $450/hr lawyers with congressional history and connections. These lands are not listed for sale or disposal. Gangs of teenagers are easily armed with lethal automatic weapons and handguns and are terrorizing urban areas . Inner cities and "ghettos" are not the only place this is occurring. More and more you hear about gun violence in all areas of the country. Guns are so easy to acquire and there are really no regulations. It's time we realize that we are not able to be in control of the situation as it is. Some things need to go. Gun shows travel the country selling guns to anyone with cash, no questions asked. This is insanity. Gun shows need to go. We need new tough laws and regulations to regulate the way guns are bought, sold, licensed and manufactured.
