• Stop Fracking in Downstate Illinois
A number of reports have illustrated the dangers of fracking to local water supplies. As mining companies attempt to begin fracking operations in central illinois, it's vital that we demand full disclosure about the potential dangers to our health and environment.

  • 100% Retirement pay for servicemembers!
It baffles my mind that a member of congress just has to serve one term in congress to enjoy full retirement benefits but a servicemember is only eligible for 50% after 20 years on duty! I want servicemembers to be entitled to full retirement benefits after atleast 20 years of service.

  • Support a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly
We already have a world government. It's called the UN, the IMF, the G8, the G20, the World Bank, the International Criminal Court, the WTO, etc. The problem is, is that none of this is democratic. We can fix this problem by adding a Parliament or House of Representatives to the United Nations. If we truly want to end war, injustice and environmental crises like global warming then we need to add democracy to the present world order. This movement is already under way and goes by the name of a United Nations Parliamentary Assembly. Signing this petition would be in support of creating a second chamber of the UN - a "People's House", known as the "United Nations Parliamentary Assembly". Representation would be based on population like the US House of Representatives, and people all over the world would vote on their representatives. (The first chamber is the General Assembly - like the Senate or House of Lords) For more information see http://www.unpacampaign.org/

  • Contrac Costa County Superior Court, Bay Division, Change your Policy on Payment of Fines.
Balancing the budget on the back of the poor is unfair and bad public policy. If people are allowed to satisfy their fines through community service, their licenses will not be suspended and/or would not be thrown in jail. It's important that people that do not have the means to satisfy their fines be given the opportunity to satisfy that debt through other means such as community service which many of these counties need during this austere economic times.

  • Say "No" to SA home tax increase!
Mayor Castro wants to raise San Antonio Homeowner taxes by nearly 30 million dollars to start redundant teacher training programs. This effort comes at a time when there is already a surplus of qualified and certified pre k teachers. Also, half day funding for pre k already exists.

  • Utility Water Bill
I live in Annapolis, MD and the city of Annapolis decided to raise the water bill triple the normal amount, so if your bill was normally $150 it is now $350 with the cost of living why would the city of Annapolis do this to the citizens. I'm asking everyone to sign this petition so we can make a change. People are already struggling with food, BGE and gas prices so why would they subject us with another high utility bill and where is the money going? Let’s make a difference right now and sign this petition...

  • Governor Tom Corbett Help the Poor, Give Back the Auto Allowance to those Who Want to Work!
As of May 2012, Governor Tom Corbett has taken away any car allowance to help low income people get a vehicle or get vehicle repairs to get them to school or to work. This is unacceptable! We want the allowance put back into affect immediately! You have a leased vehicle that costs taxpayers over $600 per month. Do your job and help the poor get back on their feet.

  • Romney Business Credentials
Mitt is running on one platform; to defeat President Obama. He has stated that his most important credential to do this is in creating jobs during his career, specifically at Bain Capital. Indications are that jobs were outsourced. Also, his assets are hidden in accounts outside the U.S. Voters of all stripes need to know the details of his business dealings in order to assess how Mitt's business practices will support his contention that he has, and will, create jobs. The most efficient and effective way to do this is to release a decade's worth of tax returns, as his father did a generation ago. This is especially important in light of the fact that the McCain ticket would not consider Romney as a running mate based on this information. Why should WE consider him. In four years, not much will have changed. VOTERS ARE ENTITLED TO THIS INFORMATION in order to make an informed decision in November.
