Affordable Housing in NYCThere are a couple of issues within New York City’s affordable housing market. The first issue is the rent guidelines applicants are governed by, next is that the affordable housing market marginalizes families outside of many locations within NYC, and is increasing the amount of homeless people in New York City, as a result of high rent costs. The rent guidelines disenfranchise many individuals and families in the process. Municipal city workers receive five percent preference for these affordable units, and are not able to utilize it because they usually do not qualify.62 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Agninshalah Collins

Violation of Property RightsI read many stories about Monsanto levying charges on farmers for growing GMO crops because the wind blew pollen from a neighbor on their crop. The opposit is true, Monsanto is Trespassing on other property with their polluting GMO pollen and their investigators examining crops on land they were not invited to trespass on. Monsanto should pay surrounding farmers for trespassing violation and polluting their crops!3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Gleason

You call yourself a patriot?!Romney MADE his money in the U.S., but he hides it in overseas accounts to avert U.S. taxes. And you're running for PRESIDENT?! How do you square your behavior with calling yourself a "patriotic American?" Your father opened his tax returns TWELVE times. Seems like HE'S the patriotic American in the family.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maureen

Put Gary Johnson in the pollsCNN, MSNBC, Fox, ABC and CBS continue to ignore Gary Johnson because they only want a two-party race. One of the ways they ignore Gary is by excluding him from their polls. After all - if he gets 15% in the polls, they will have to let him debate Obama and Romney. What a disaster that would be for the Republicans and Democats and their lapdog media. Our only hope is NPR. Unfortunately NPR is bought and paid for by ... the Republic-rats and the Demo-cants. This petition is to NPR - start living up to your obligation to report the news, not the spin. Start telling us what Gary Johnson says every day. Then Americans will have an actual choice in November.355 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Rick Stewart

Stop Bank of America Ripping Us all offBank of America has been transferring many home mortgages to various servicing agencies, e.g. Greentree, with accounts delinquent on the payments (which the customers have made) to taxes, etc and escrow accounts in deficit balance. They also keep sending the customers the last mortgage statement which the customers pay but Bank of America does not transfer to Greentree Greentree is asking the customers to pay the deficit. that Bank of America has left behind.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maryam Afkarian

Stop FY 2013 Agriculture Appropriations BillBig Agri-business, in an attempt to subvert existing crop cultivation laws, is backing a bill that would prevent the USDA from enforcing regulations halting the planting of illegal, potentially hazardous genetically engineered crops before their safety has even been determined.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mac Turner

Federal / State Office Candidates Discloser Minimum Requirements. There is a need to establish minimum discloser requirements so all voters recieve the same basic information on a perspective candidate for office. Currently, this is up to each candidate resulting in uneaqual, disjointed, misleading information. The minimum requirement will provide standard insight into a candidates positions, qualifications & financial management.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Al Snook

State of California: Don't take away accessibility for over 3.6 million CaliforniansCalifornia led the way in including people with disabilities and seniors in all of our communities by requiring that public spaces be physically accessible. Decades before the ADA was adopted, California put disability civil rights into law and regulation. Now, with no new studies – but with lots of pressure by certain business interests – the California Building Standards Commission will vote on a proposal by the new State Architect to reduce decades-old access requirements in a rushed 'emergency' vote this Thursday, July 19th. Tell the CBSC not to push people with disabilities and seniors back into physically segregated conditions.290 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Walter Park

Educate Not Incarcerate! Stop the School to Prison Pipline!Children should be educated, not incarcerated, the "school to prison pipeline," a disturbing national trend wherein children are funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities or histories of poverty, abuse or neglect, and would benefit from additional educational and counseling services. Instead, they are isolated, punished and pushed out. "Zero-tolerance" policies criminalize minor infractions of school rules, while high-stakes testing programs encourage educators to push out low-performing students to improve their schools' overall test scores. Students of color are especially vulnerable to push-out trends and the discriminatory application of discipline.29 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tate
