  • The One Percent Should Make Jobs
If the one percent spent as much money on the economy and making jobs instead of trying to manipulate the presidential election, our democracy and economy would be better off.

  • Moratorium on AIUSA Strategic Plan
[By virtue of signing this letter, we commit ourselves to jointly developing an inclusive, informed, and transparent membership-led process to review and redraw the Strategic Plan in a way that embodies the movement AIUSA can be and wants to be. This involves clear and easily accessible channels for gathering and sharing information, ample venues to provide input by all parties, and a commitment to not making structural changes until there is movement-wide approval. We know that there are many good ideas about the next steps and commit to an inclusive, informed and transparent deliberative process to evaluate the ideas and come together on the way forward.] IMPORTANT - WHEN YOU SIGN PLEASE INDICATE YOUR CONNECTION TO AIUSA IN THE COMMENT SECTION (i.e. supporter, volunteer, local group members, former staff, donor, etc.) AIUSA’s Board of Directors and Executive Director has decided to restructure and eliminate valued staff without first developing an approved Implementation Process and Plan. The Strategic Plan reflects a flawed process which was not in conformity with AIUSA practices of seeking transparent and meaningful staff and membership consultation and therefore we reject it.

  • END APARTHEID
Israel has been getting away with murder for far too long and we cannot rely on our elected representatives in Washington to turn the tide because they have been muzzled by the Israeli lobbies like AIPAC and ADL and they also rely on their money and votes.

  • Repeal Obamacare or End Exemptions
The government should not control our healthcare, while exempting themselves from it. Either repeal it or do away with all exemptions, including congress, the senate and the president. If is is a wonderful program ALL Americans should have to be covered by it.

  • New pavement in our neighborhood
The residents of La Alameda subdivision in San Benito, Texas are tired of driving over streets that are a hot mess of patches over patches. The repeated driving over these very rough surfaces is not only destroying our vehicles, but it also represents ergonomic health issues as well.

  • Gap between the rich and the poor
This gap is creating more poor people in the USA and with tax codes and Republican budgets like Paul Ryan's the future of the middle class and poor is more desperate as we try to make ends meet. We are retired so live in the uncertainty that our money will last depending on the changes in social security and medicare.

  • Orders, Orders, Orders
Both sides of the political aisle seems to think that businesses need tax incentives to create jobs. They're both wrong. Businesses don't need tax incentives OR relaxed credit...they need enough orders to warrant hiring more people.

  • 21st Century Education Reform
In today's global economy, without post-secondary education young people have an extremely high chance of becoming destitute, then marginalized and a real burden for the entire society at some point in their lives. At a time when unemployed have created for the first time a Union of their own let's create the conditions to eliminate unemployment. Learning at least one trade which will enable them to be immediately productive for the society should be free of charge and compulsory. Instead of having tax-payers money allocated for unemployment and welfare (which are largely the effects of poor education) why not pay for eliminating the root-cause?

  • Maximum Amount Allowed to be spent on Campaigns
The amount of money being spent on State and Federal Campaigns is obscene after the passage of the Supreme Court Ruling which allowed Corporations to be "people". These Super PACS are spending monies that could be better spent on education, infrastructure, police/firemen salaries and yet these corporations are the first to say NO when asked to increase state and local budgets.
