But that doesn't matter to the extremists who've been waging a McCarthyist campaign of fear and intimidation on Catholic college campuses across the country. The Cardinal Newman Society, which led the opposition to President Obama's commencement speech at Notre Dame three years ago, is circulating a petition demanding that the President of Gonzaga University disinvite Archbishop Tutu—but so far this time they only have a few hundred signatures. Let's make sure Gonzaga doesn't give in to the Religious Right!

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) has helped extremist legislators mass-produce and rush to passage un-Constitutional bills in statehouses across the country, including regressive voter-ID laws, mandatory trans-vaginal ultrasounds and the discredited union-busting legislation in Wisconsin. These laws do not reflect the intentions of the people who elected these representatives and who pay their salaries with their tax dollars. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Wendy's, Kraft and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are among those who have already renounced their support of ALEC. We're calling on Verizon to follow suit and help end the unethical influence of multi-national corporations on America's state & local governments.

For just over a decade, WIPA programs have shown beneficiaries how to transition from benefit checks to paychecks and from public healthcare benefits to private healthcare benefits, allowing them to achieve greater levels of financial independence.

The healthcare benefits that Congress and their spouses receive is unfair to that of the average American who pays for healthcare and even more unfair to the millions who are without healthcare; yet, continue to pay taxes in order to cover Congress. Taxpayers should also decide if and when Congress should get a raise.Congress should not have the sole authority to approve raises for themselves. We must get enough signatures to send a strong message before the Presidential Election!
