• Tell Dean Tran to Agree to the Sentinel & Enterprise Debate
After only nine months in state office, State Senator Dean Tran is already ducking his responsibilities to the public. He’s refusing to attend the Sentinel & Enterprise’s October 24 State Senate debate with his opponent in the November election, Leominster City Councilor Sue Chalifoux Zephir. Senator Tran said no to the newspaper’s invitation to a one-on-one debate, saying he would only “respond to written questions” with written answers. The two other forums Tran has agreed to participate in will provide candidates with the questions or topics in advance, making the Sentinel & Enterprise debate the only open-ended debate of this election. The Sentinel & Enterprise reported recently that 75 percent of Tran’s campaign donors are from outside of the district. Perhaps he believes he is no longer accountable to his constituents. Tell Dean Tran to respect the voter of our region and agree to the Sentinel & Enterprise debate! Voters deserve to hear from him about the issues facing families in North Central Massachusetts.

  • Investigate Kavanaugh or vote NO
The artificial deadline to vote on SCOTUS does not indicate than any serious consideration is being given to a number of recent allegations. Let's be sure we're making a genuine effort to find the best candidate for this lifetime appointment.

  • Debate for the People of Alabama
The Governor, who was not voted in, has never officially expressed her views on any issues. If she should be elected for the 1st time, people need to know what they are voting for.

  • Chuy Garcia, please don't run for Mayor of Chicago in 2019
When you aligned yourself with Speaker Michael J. Madigan, specifically your support for him as Chair of Democratic Party of Illinois, you aligned yourself against the progressives and independents who are trying to reform the party. Also, your campaign in 2015 was not executed well. And there are concerns with how you and your inner circle treat women who are active in Democratic Party politics.

  • Give Albert Winton His Military Rank
This man served his country with unwavering courage, even at a time when he was discriminated against based on the color of his skin. Our great country is capable of giving him his rank retroactively, and we believe this should happen soon.

  • Help send 30,000 messages to SAExploration: No seismic testing in the Arctic!
Now, after Trump took steps to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to Big Oil, a small company called SAExploration has applied for a permit to conduct seismic testing. This can have a devastating impact on the environment. And it could start as soon as December. We need your help to show SAExploration that the public is watching – and we don’t want them to do seismic testing in the Arctic!

  • Demand that ALEC withdraw its support for Brett Kavanaugh
At the American Legislative Exchange Council meeting in New Orleans, legislators who are part of ALEC signed their names to a letter endorsing Brett Kavanaugh to be confirmed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Since then, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford has lodged a serious and credible charge of attempted rape by the nominee, and other women have come forward alleging sexual misconduct. Although Kavanaugh has denied these charges, ALEC has been silent in response to the outcry of concerns from women and men across the country that he should not be given a lifetime seat on our highest court. ALEC’s failure to take such charges seriously is disreputable, but it is fully consistent with its silence in response to other sexual misconduct allegations against some of its legislative members. In the past year alone, fourteen state lawmakers with ALEC ties have been accused of sexual misconduct. Some remain in office. One, Ohio Representative Bill Seitz, actually received a commendation from ALEC a mere month after the press reported about him making sexually lewd comments to female colleagues. While some of these legislators have left office, others remain. In all of these cases, ALEC has never issued a public statement of condemnation. Nor has ALEC published any public policy on how it handles sexual misconduct by its members. That's why we're calling on ALEC to withdraw their support of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States.

  • A Brett Kavanaugh confirmation should also trigger mass protests
A friend of mine pointed out that everyone was ready to take to the streets over Rosenstein, but there was no comparable response to Kavanaugh. It looked like an example of patriarchal priorities and I thought this would be a way to fix that.
