  • End shameful double standards in our legal system.
Despite his 34 felony convictions, Donald Trump doesn’t have to worry about his eligibility to vote this fall. He has the wealth, connections, and privilege to ensure his voting rights would never be in question – not to mention a high-powered legal team paid for by his political donors due to gaps in campaign finance laws. But the 4.4 million ordinary Americans currently disenfranchised by felony convictions aren’t so lucky. Just look at Trump’s home state of Florida, where Governor Ron DeSantis has personally guaranteed that the former president will be able to cast a ballot this fall. In stark contrast, Black Florida residents have been dragged from their homes at gunpoint and arrested for the "crime" of not realizing they were ineligible to vote. It’s time to end this double standard and ensure NO American is denied their right to vote in federal elections. Add your name to tell Congress: Pass the Inclusive Democracy Act to restore full voting rights to all Americans with felony convictions.

  • Help Hoover High School Cheerleaders Wear Their Uniforms To School On Game Days
It is important for equality, for us to feel supported as "athletes," and because many of our families spend a large amount of money supporting us. Though we are in the public school system within Fresno Unified School District and though we are athletes, we receive no financial help. We are also searching for equality and the chance to support our school.

This means a lot to this community. We are in a fishing community and it’s very beneficial to the younger generations as we have made it a priority to make sure a kid can always fish.

  • Fight for Rights
Others should join our fight for rights! Prisoners in Missouri were given the right to an attorney. If they cannot afford one, one is appointed to them. So why is this right not given to the ones under guardianship? A psychiatric evaluation after a year in a locked facility will show the progress of one's health. Placing them in front of a Judge will get the courts more involved with their cases. When placed in a 24 hour 7 days a week locked down facility you are not given any amount of time that you will be in this facility. It could be a year it could be 12+ years. Prisoners are given an out date, but the non-criminal mentally ill are not given this right.

  • End the Inhumane Lockdowns at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn
MDC Brooklyn is a pretrial detention facility and so the majority of its inhabitants are innocent under the eyes of the law. These conditions mimic those of solitary confinement - which is a violation of the United Nations Basic Principles for the Treatment of Prisoners - and the long-term psychological and physical impact will follow around these individuals for the rest of their lives.

  • HELP SAFEGUARD OUR LOCAL RENT CONTROL AND TENANT PROTECTION ORDINANCES
Amending the Rent Control and Tenant Protection Ordinance in favor of the Meadows owners, will create displacement of families, families with children in CCUSD, senior citizens, retirees, those with disabilities, residents who work in Culver City, while increasing the 43% of Culver City Renters who are rent burdened. Instead of serving the 48% of Culver City Residents who are renters, it will cause an exodus, and challenge those who are displaced. They will most likely be unable to relocate in Culver City or find affordable housing in neighboring communities. We are especially sensitive to displaced senior citizens and children who are pulled out of school before graduating as seniors from Culver City High School.

  • Demand Rep. Loudermilk explain his tour just before Jan 6th!
It is important people in positions of responsibility be honest with the general public, so "we the people" can make intelligent decisions. Rep. Loudermilk's refusal to explain his behavior suggests he supported the insurrection, and is a traitor to the United States of America. But we can't know if he won't even explain his behavior.

  • Connetquot School District: Reverse The Pride Flag Ban
LGBTQIA+ students face elevated risks of suicide, depression, and more. Connetquot Schools has had repeated issues with racism and homophobia, and LGBTQIA+ students report discrimination and hostile environements. When a teacher tries to rectify this, they should be comended. Instead, a teacher hanging a Progress Pride flag was met by rage from Board of Education President Jacky Napolitano-Furno, and a demand to take the flag down. Unfortunately, the school district gave in to her demands, not only forcing the teacher to take her flag down, but banning all Pride flags district-wide in classrooms. Connetquot needs to lift the ban on Pride flags, and allow the Progress Pride flag to hang once again. Please also email: Board of Education: [email protected] Superintendent: [email protected]
