  • Pass SB 2123 as it was FIRST Introduced
For the citizens of Mississippi. This is to get loved ones out of horrible prisons and back into society. When these men and women get out, they will get jobs and start paying taxes. We can get our prison systems in order and up to code. We can get our loved ones back in our lives every day and not just four hours one day a week. We can get guards that care and are not overworked or just needing a job. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance.

  • Don't use the coronavirus as an excuse to reauthorize the Patriot Act!
The spread of the coronavirus is a major national and global public health crisis. It should be a moment where our government works quickly and effectively to stop a pandemic. Instead, as the Intercept reported, Congressional leaders are considering adding an extremely controversial provision reauthorizing mass spying on the American people to a must-pass coronavirus spending bill. Key portions of the Patriot Act are due to expire on March 15. This includes Section 215, the notorious provision that enabled our government to conduct mass surveillance on the American people. Members of both parties in Congress have tried to prevent Section 215 from being reauthorized, so we can shut down this abusive spying for good. But Congressional leaders are strongly considering adding a reauthorization of Section 215 to the coronavirus spending bill, forcing members of Congress to choose between public health and our constitutional rights. We need to mobilize NOW and tell Congress this is an unacceptable, shady, and offensive idea. Congress needs to pass a clean coronavirus funding bill. And they need to shut down Section 215 for good.

  • We need more African American women on our state Supreme Courts.
Nationwide, according to the Brennan Center for Justice, “gender disparity on supreme courts is particularly severe for women of color". There are no African American women on the Supreme Court of the United States and only 14 on the state supreme courts across our nation African American women are needed to broaden the perspectives of our Supreme Courts during judicial decision making, which is critically needed to expand justice for all.

technically because the electoral college is so badly skewed, it is possible for a candidate to lose the general election by 10 million votes and still win the electoral college. It is a disgrace!

  • Secure America's Federal Elections (SAFE)
On February 11, 2020, Senators Ron Wyden (D-OR), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Mark Warner (D-VA) each attempted to introduce a separate election security bill through a 'request for unanimous consent' of the full Senate. The bills included the SAFE Act and two bills that would require campaigns to report offers of foreign assistance, including donations or coordination, to the FEC and the FBI. If a foreign government offers to interfere to help a campaign, Senator Warner chided, "the appropriate response is not to say thank you. The appropriate response is to call the FBI." Senator Blumenthal warned that after the Senate Republicans' acquittal of Trump, "There is no doubt that he will only be emboldened in his efforts to illegally enlist foreign governments in his re-election campaign." Under the 'request for unanimous consent' rules, only one senator need object. In this instance a Republican senator from Tennessee objected three times and quickly halted consideration of all three bills. In their defense, Republicans might say the Senate has already passed election security measures, which is true. $380 million was appropriated by Congress in 2018 to states for election security and another $425 million appropriated in the 2020 budget. (The House appropriated $600 million this year., but as talked about above the Senate won't pass it.) But Wyden counters, "Any bill that gives hundreds of millions of dollars to states without requiring that states use paper ballots, conduct audits, and follow basic cybersecurity standards, is a nonstarter . . ." Wyden continues, “America is 266 days away from the 2020 election, and Majority Leader McConnell has yet to take any concrete steps to protect our federal elections from hacking or foreign interference." He adds that refusing to take even the simple step included in one of the bills that would ban states from connecting their voting machines to the internet is like "stashing our ballots in the Kremlin." It's time American voters demand the SAFE Act be passed as soon as possible. Demand that adequately funded comprehensive election protections be in place and well functioning in time for this year’s election. With persistence and focused participation, perhaps we can – together – make this issue a public priority, a media priority and even -- perhaps grudgingly -- a Senate priority! A vision that should certainly be attainable in a country still referred to as the greatest democracy on earth. PS: Please share this information with your friends. If they do not want their names on the petition they can contact their senators by phone, mail or email by going to their websites found at this address: https://contactsenators.com/ Obviously, the more voices the better! Thank you for your participation!

  • Make Texas Legal
It is important for Texas to legalize marijuana because the 'War on Drugs' has been a lost war when you look at the studies and you look at the numbers. Multiple states as well as other countries around the world, already have legalized marijuana. Is simple but, complicated matter Has been cutting the Drug Cartels' profitability margin simply forcing them to resort to other ways to make money. states as well as other countries that have legalized marijuana for medical purposes as well as recreational purposes have seen a significant drop in certain area Of concern that has been causing problems for years. States, and Countries tax the legal marijuana to support there needed, while using less Government funding. Let's not forget that marijuana was legal in the United States until 1937 before it became illegal and it was used as medicine to cure nearly everything. And let's not forget that certain people made marijuana illegal due to the fact that minorities were starting to use marijuana to heal themselves and it wasn't just used by the high-class anymore, which is why it became illegal.

  • Repeal the $15.7 billion tax increase for working families that strips generational wealth.
These defined contribution plans became popular as a way for workers to save for their retirements by investing small amounts of money each year in a tax-deferred account using pre-tax money. When the retiree started taking distributions, the distributions were counted as ordinary income for tax purposes. Upon the death of the retiree, the beneficiaries of the defined contribution plan would have to take the required minimum distribution every year and pay taxes on that distribution as ordinary income. Because these defined contribution plans would continue to grow tax-deferred, the distributions could continue for decades and could be passed on to the heirs of the beneficiaries. This was a great way for workers to acquire savings and pass those savings and the resultant income on to their children and grandchildren thus creating generational wealth. This changed when the revenue provision of the SECURE ACT passed. Now, the distribution period is shortened to ten years. The effects of this change are two-fold. First, workers can no longer provide long-term savings and income to their children and grandchildren. Second, because the distribution period is shortened, more money is distributed so more money is taxed. Furthermore, the increased distribution will more than likely push the beneficiary into a higher tax bracket. The rich get to leave their kids over $11,000,000 tax free with no restrictions. The working class get to leave their kids a tax increase. Furthermore, the rich get a $1 trillion tax cut over ten years because of the Trump Tax Act. This tax cut helped increase the federal deficit by 26% from 2018 to 2019. The rich get a $1 trillion tax cut. The working class get a $15.7 billion tax increase. REPEAL THE REVENUE PROVISION OF THE SECURE ACT THAT IS A $15.7 BILLION TAX INCREASE FOR WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

Look how it looks? Everybody knows you can't have a trial without documents and witnesses. He's no different from us, the American people! Our country has become a fascist state and it shows. Had this been President Obama, he would have been prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and they would have removed him from office and everybody knows this. The Democrats did an outstanding job, but they need help from the American people they can't do this by themselves. Let's become community organizers. Unite the people to go to Washington D.C. and say out loud, we demand fairness, we demand witnesses and documents now!
