Gay people and immigrants are getting beaten, shouted at, humiliated, and prosecuted. Buildings are being tagged with xenophobic racist messages. Say SomethingExperts now state that hate crimes in the United States have spiked. Instances of violence, threat, intimidation, vandalism, and abuse have been well-documented in our schools, as well as in the public square. Meanwhile, our current and elected officials have maintained an unfortunate posture of silence. With Americans living in fear and falling victim to hate, silence is not an option. Lives are being lost. People have taken to our streets. We, the People, need your voice and leadership during this period of transition and uncertainty. In fact, we demand it. Take a stand against hate. Say something.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alissia Thompson

Donald Trump Please Denounce Bigotry in a SpeechDonald Trump, sir, you declared in your victory speech that your movement was: "... a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds, and beliefs." In your meeting with President Obama today you declared, "He is a very good man," and it was, a "great honor” to meet him. I believe you Mr. Trump, I really do, as an admitted Democrat I was moved by some of your victory speech, particularly when you said, "For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so we can work together and unify our great country." Well, here is some guidance: Confront head on the things you said and clarify them. If you said some things to break through that "glass ceiling" as a politician, it may, ironically, in the long run, be somewhat understood by historians and the American people. But if you remain silent, and let some of your following grab all the headlines with hatred, ignorance and bigotry, you will be judged by that in the long term, mark my words. Today I am reading about people of color and different religions being insulted and worse, and parades are being planned by white supremacists. You could argue that some of this is free speech, that some of this "expression" is their right, but understand this sir: WE had the popular vote. That means the majority of the United States stand AGAINST YOU because of some of the things that have come out of your mouth. It's that simple. And WE will fight a scourge when we see one. WE happen to have the justice department and the Constitution on our sides. So, with all due respect for what you have accomplished to get to this point, let us become a truly UNITED country, as WE move forward into the future. In that vein, I respectfully ask you to stand up for minorities of this great country and denounce, in a public speech, once and for all, ALL FORMS OF BIGOTRY, BEFORE you become President of the UNITED States.25 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Eric Werner

Censure of President-elect Donald Trump by Popular PetitionLook, honestly, signing this won’t have much of an impact. I mean, even if this started to really roll, and like a million people signed it (not gonna happen), it’s not going to change things much. On the other hand, each signature has a greater than zero impact; there is absolutely, unconditionally, unequivocally no doubt that you can make a difference and that the course of history shivers ever so slightly with each choice any of us make. Just by choosing, we share, we join, and we create a community of care and love. There are a million moments in every day to choose to believe in the kind of world we want for ourselves and others. And when we do this, we change the energetics. Just a little bit. We can believe. And by believing we change the world. I really think that every moment of every day is a time and a chance to show up and represent what we believe in. You win some, you lose some. But when we learn to be steady in love and consciousness… that’s a powerful thing. There’s enough people who’ve lived on this planet that have shown us how it’s done. It’s an extraordinary thing to see. Me? I remember this maybe once a week. Maybe once a day, on a good week. Maybe for an hour or two, on a good day. But I try. And I’m remembering it right now. Love and light, Kevin.364 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Kevin Riddle

California Says No to Mass DeportationsApproximately 25% of our nation's undocumented residents live in California, and they are understandably distressed at the results of the Presidential election. Our state relies on them to contribute to our economy and our future. California's leaders should pledge to protect them to the extent permissible by law from the kind of indiscriminate deportation Mr. Trump has promised.284 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Mark

Pledge to stand together against hateAn erratic, abusive bully just won the White House following a campaign that leveled attacks against Muslims, immigrants, women, communities of color, and so many more of our friends and neighbors. If Trump's administration attempts to turn this bigotry into policy--or if hate groups emboldened by his election target our friends and neighbors--we must all stand up against this aggression. We can't change the election results, but we can make sure that folks who are scared and hurting know that the MoveOn community will not allow the hateful attacks of Trump's campaign to go unanswered. Let's make it clear to all people and communities under attack that we stand united against bigotry.2,738 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Justin Krebs

Stop Intimidation and Harassment of MinoritiesThere have been multiple reports of harassment, intimidation and brutal physical attacks across the country since the election. Minorities who are US citizens are being targeted, asked to leave the country and told they are not American. This is the not the country our forefathers envisioned. Our elected officials must step up and speak out for the democratic principles our country was founded on.34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pam B.

Don't Take Away LGBT Rights!!!I have a sister, cousins, other family members, and lots of friends who are in the LGBT community. I have seen the fear in them about the few rights that they have being ripped away from them and becoming second-class citizens in a country that they love. At this point it doesn't matter who you voted for, let's vote for America and keep civil rights for all of our citizens. America was founded by those seeking freedom from persecution and became a haven for those seeking rights and equality. Let's keep it that way.59 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Heidi Siegel

Let Majority RuleThe United States is a democracy. The voice of the nation's people is what guides our government through the election process. The United States utilizes an obsolete election system based on the number of congressmen and population density in each state. The Electoral College is a flawed system because a candidate can win by a landslide in one state, and lose by a few thousand votes in another, giving that candidate the most overall votes, and yet the opposing candidate can still win the election because of the way the states are weighted in the Electoral College. This is the second election in recent history where the voters favored one candidate, but the Electoral College appointed the opposing candidate to the presidency. In doing so, our democratic process has failed the citizens of this nation and disempowered the voters in the election process. We, the undersigned, move to change our election system to one where the true majority rules and every vote counts. We wish to see future elections utilize the Popular Vote to elect officials to our country's highest office, and end the use of the Electoral College.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Meredith Thomas
