Hold Honolulu police Sgt. Darren Cachola accountableDomestic violence is an issue that needs to be addressed and handled appropriately no matter your status or profession. The dismissal of Honolulu Sgt. Cachola's domestic violence case is yet another example of how police are not being held to the same standard as the general public. It's time to shed a light on this dark crime and strip Sgt. Cachola of his badge before his crimes affect another civilian.58 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ashlee

GTS BOARD: REINSTATE FACULTY & MEET WITH THEMOn September 30, 2014, eight professors at GTS were fired for exercising their basic (and legal!) rights as faculty members and as workers: the right to form a union. They demanded to meet to address issues that create a “hostile work environment." Their firing doesn’t just impact the professors, but the students and future leaders of the Church. As custodians and overseers of an institution charged with nurturing the next generation of Episcopalian leaders, it is the Board of Trustees’ responsibility to lead by example and practice worker relations that align with the values of the Church and honor workers’ legal and moral rights. At the 2102 General Convention, the Episcopal Church resolved to build networks in the labor movement and work with those in the labor movement to strengthen for a more just society, pledged to oppose legislative attempts that eliminate or reduce collective bargaining rights and consider union rights when making purchasing and contracting decisions. Given the Episcopal Church’s explicate opposition to retaliation and support of workers’ right to organize, the Board of Trustees must quickly reinstate these faculty members and meet with them as a collective bargaining unit.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Aina Gutierrez

Make a Decision AlreadyBecause the lack of a decision has created a great divide in this country. Same sex marriages are recognized by some states and in some instances and not in others. This is creating a real burden on gay families and government agencies that must deal with the problems created. The time has come for a uniform, national rule.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stephen R. Stapleton

A historic time for national policing reformsThe tragic police killing of 18-year-old Mike Brown hit home for millions across the country. The horror of losing a loved one to senseless, racially-motivated police violence is a daily threat in the lives of Black people in America. Now, national leaders are paying more attention to racial profiling and police brutality than they have in years. Will you join us in calling on the federal government to implement critical reforms to end abusive, militarized, and biased policing targeting Black and brown communities?180 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Rashad Robinson

Bob Beauprez, Cory Gardner: end your war against marriage equalityYears from now, it will be considered bizarre that anyone would have opposed the right of all committed couples to marry. Perhaps those who opposed marriage equality will apologize some day to the Americans whose rights they refused to acknowledge until the courts forced them. Until that happens we have to hold them accountable.171 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Alan Franklin

Expand DMV hours in Wisconsin for Voter IDJust 7 weeks before election day, a panel of 3 judges from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals lifted an injunction, allowing Wisconsin's Voter ID law to go into effect for the November 4th election. Voters who do not have a photo ID that meets the law's requirements will need to obtain an ID card or driver's license through the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles prior to election day. But there is a catch. Wisconsin has just 92 DMV locations statewide, and 49 of those operate just 2 days a week. Four of those offices are open just 6 days a year, with one open as few as just 3 days during the year. 48 of Wisconsin's 72 counties do not have a DMV office open full-time. Offices in 2 counties are not open at all before election day, and others will be open just 3 times before the November election. That is why we are calling on Department of Transportation officials and Governor Walker to immediately institute expanded business hours, including the addition of some weekend hours, at every DMV location in the state.284 of 300 SignaturesCreated by United Wisconsin

Removal of Confederate Flag on I-95 Spotsy/F'burgThe Confederate flag is offensive and demeaning to many African Americans, as a Nazi flag would be offensive to Jewish people. The United States of America represents one flag with stars and strips, which unites its people. A Confederate flag suggests division and seperatism and brings to mind the old "Jim Crow" laws of "white supremacy." This flag should be removed.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by G.Marie Brown

Open the DMV, or no voter ID!Voter ID imposes an unjust and unconstitutional burden on voters. This is voter suppression and it is causing confusion and chaos. Voters who have voted all of their lives and fought for the right to vote face not being able to exercise their constitutional rights.382 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Kelley Albrecht

Tell Gov. Brown to limit the use of police dronesMore and more Americans are becoming concerned about their privacy, and the Governor needs to make a commitment to protecting his citizens' rights. Days after rejecting this bill, a bill preventing paparazzi from targeting celebrities with camera-equipped drones was signed by Governor Brown. We don't approve of the general public nor the Government and its agencies to use unwarranted surveillance drones on California citizens.46 of 100 SignaturesCreated by TiaPerkins

Gaining the Right To WaterI want our Mercy girls to be able to replenish their bodies throughout the school day. We should not be punished for one person's mistake. The bottles could be monitored, making sure that everyone is only carrying around water.60 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Megan Schleisman

Tell Montana Bishop: Don't ban gay couple from receiving communionThe new priest had only been at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lewistown, Montana for four days when he discovered that a gay couple in the congregation had married last year. He gave them an ultimatum: Either divorce and renounce their marriage, he told Paul Huff and Tom Wotjowick, or the two lifelong Catholics would be banned from church ministries and from receiving communion. Paul and Tom have been in a committed relationship for 30 years. Devoted Catholics, they play music at service and sing in the choir, and they never publicized their marriage. Already, as many as 40 of their fellow congregants have spoken out or quit attending mass in protest. So far the local bishop is backing the parish priest, even though he acknowledges that Paul and Tom are "good people." We need to show him that there's a growing national outcry of Christians who are appalled at how Tom and Paul are being treated.53 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Sherrard, Faithful America
