Don't sent rapists to volunteer at rape crisis centers!Dallas 20-year-old Sir Young's sexual assault should have landed him in jail for decades. Instead he got community service — at a rape crisis center.27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Washington Post: Apologize for racist, xenophobia editorial!Stanford Professor Ian Morris argues that British colonialism in India eliminated "savagery," that genocides only killed two percent of the century's population, so they weren't that big a deal, and that obliterating the Native American population was justified since "people almost never give up their freedoms... unless forced to do so."8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Demand Progress

Educators for Fair Unbiased Internet AccessAs a high school chemistry teacher, my access to small, independent stories and videos is critical, if I am to convey both the excitement as well as the dangers of the world of chemistry. There's no way a litigation-adverse school district would allow me to demonstrate all the CRAZY chemistry-related things people people do!1,237 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Brian Little

Net-Neutrality at Risk: Don't be neutral about this attempt to privatize free and open access to...As a math and science teacher (recently retired) I was able to provide more current and thought-provoking activities that were web-based for my students as well as keep up with the latest ideas and methods in teaching content. I also was able to develop a website for my students that gave them an easy way to ask questions about content and assignments as well as keep track of their grades. I see all those benefits threatened by legislation to make the internet "pay-to-play." On a personal level I was able to travel on a work study trip to Guatemala and able to keep in touch with family through the internet. The cost of international phone calls was prohibitive and the modest fee for using computers very doable.10 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gail

Enshrine Net Neutrality in Pro-Consumer LawI grew up on the Internet, I work remotely--over the Internet--and most of the products I consume come from the Internet. This lifestyle was established on a long-standing Internet principal, from which only the foolish depart, that all desirably-received traffic be created, and treated equally.408 of 500 SignaturesCreated by David Berry

Keep the Internet Free and Equal for All UsersI am retired on a SS income that places me way below the poverty line. I don't own a tv and my family is spread all over the country. I don't own a car because I can't afford one. The internet is my lifeline, my entertainment and my source for news, weather and interaction with people. If the net becomes tiered by money, I will be effectively homeless and cut off from the world. Did I mention that I live in a rural area without a car or public transportation?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kathleen Roberts
