The right to vote is sacred to every American citizen and must be protected to the fullest extent possible by an amended Voting Rights Act that repairs the damage to the Act done by the Supreme Court.

We are serving notice that the negative portrayal of people of color in the media will no longer be tolerated. People of color accomplish great deeds in our community on a regular basis, yet positive accomplishments are not often highlighted by our media outlets.

The Voting Rights Act is an inexplicably integral part of our Constitution and The Bill of RIghts for ALL legal American Citizens. It's the right thing, and democratic thing to do, and all States ought to abide by this legislation, with consequences if not adhered to. Our country stands for Democracy. Let's not let voters down!

This partition is simply making voting rights available to all citizens. There is practically no evidence that voter fraud is a problem in this country. We need our congressman to fight for a strong bill!

I can't say that I have been personally affected by this issue. However, I believe that a democracy can only survive if all citizens are ensured the right to vote.

Last year the Supreme Court decision weaken one of the most important pieces of Civil Rights legislation Congress ever passed, the Voting Rights Act. Rep Steven Horsford should support and cosponsor the effort to restore the voting rights protections provided in the Voting Rights Act of 2014.

The Voting Rights act was seriously weakened by the Supreme Court last year. The bill that Congress is currently considering would restore some af the key provisions of the act. Representative De Lauro should support this bill.

The preservation of American Democracy demands the ‘consent of the governed,’ and voting is the method by which Americans give that consent. Any nation ruled by unaccountable officials who choose their constituents cannot, and likely will not, maintain the freedoms promised by a nation where the people choose their representation.

Over the years, your vote has often elected the candidates of your choice. It has made you feel that said candidates had an obligation to you to live up their campaign promises..... and that you have the right to hold them responsible if they don't. It made you feel powerful and important.... it is the power of" Choice". It lets you know that as long as you have a "Vote" you have a "Voice". Now more than ever that vote allows us to keep good people in office and remove those that we deem unworthy. It is one of the things that separates us from a "Dictatorship". Now what if you lost your power to "vote"? What if you lost your power to choose the candidate of your "choice"? What if you lost the power to choose where you will live, how your children will be educated, what religion you practice..........and even who you can marry? Well, if the "Voting Rights Amendment Act" of 2014(VRA) is not passed then some people may lose their vote, their freedom of "Choice".
