  • Right to Fresh Start
If a citizen of a state does not have any new convictions,(other than traffic fines or parking tickets) within a 7 year period. That person should have that right to have his record cleared. *I believe that there are many people out there that have been denied access to better paying jobs because of something they did 10-15 years ago. This is unjust to these people that deserve a chance.

  • Try George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and Donald Rumsfeld for International War Crimes
We all know the reasons for going to war in Iraq were based on one lie after another. First it was that Saddam Hussien had Nuclear Weapons, then it was chemical weapons of Mass Destruction; all of which were never found. Then, we stayed and fought for control of oil in the region. Then it was for Stability of the region which we made unstable by a massive invasion ("you break it, you buy it."). As we all know, Colin Powell was forced to Lie to the United nations in order to change the public opinion from "we need to have an investigation" to try and prove a clear and present danger to the world at large. That danger was never found, and what resulted was a massive conspiracy to mislead Congress and the American people into a "police action" which caused over 100,000 injured American Soldiers, over 4,000 American Soldiers dead, and the Iraqi Civilian death toll of over 1 million. I demand a International Tribunal to try these men (George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove) for conspiracy, lying under Oath and 1 million counts of murder.

  • Petition to decriminalize use of marijuana.
It's absolutly amazing to me that in a country riddled with so much political and social injustice, that a person can be arrested for smoking marijuana. While men and women fill our prisons and jails for possesion and use of marijuana. Washington continues to rip us off. And deny us the right to smoke a joint. The laws that prohibit this are older than all of us. Many people have been arrested for this non violent act. Medical marijuana has passed in 17 states to this point, but every patient who uses, posseses or cultivates is subjet to fedral prosecution. Do we really have the money in this country to continue to put people, who are hurting noone in jail. If you want to solve the defficet why not start by leaving people who smoke weed alone, and stop turning them into criminals.

  • Please fix 2nd hand smoke health hazards for multi-unit dwelling residents
It's about protecting the health of everyone who shares walls, air, space in apartment and condo units. Besides entering through open windows, studies have shown that secondhand smoke can enter neighboring units under doorways and through wall cracks and openings for electrical wiring, light fixtures, plumbing, baseboards and ductwork. Some air cleaners may help to reduce secondhand smoke to a limited degree, but no air filtration or air purification system can completely eliminate all the harmful constituents of secondhand smoke. The U.S. Surgeon General has determined secondhand smoke to cause heart disease, lung cancer, and respiratory illness. Simply reducing secondhand smoke does not protect against the disease and death caused by exposure to secondhand smoke. The U.S. Surgeon General has stated that there is no risk-free level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Everyone has a right to breathe and enjoy clean air and health in their homes. This petition is requesting that an ordinance be passed (similar to Santa Monica's) fining residents of multi-unit housing for smoking within a 25-foot radius of all doors, windows, and vents.

  • Voter Suppression
If this country is the true democracy it claims to be. Every effort should be made to insure every citizen has the opportunity to vote. We go all over the world advocating this right, yet certain factions in this country are trying to suppress the vote in this country. Can you imagine the outcry in this country if other countries invoked some of the measures in being imposed by certain states in this country, some who have a long history of voter suppression.

  • CommercialDrivers in California
Commercial drivers in the state of California are unable to attend traffic school on a moving violation when the incident occurs in their personal vehicle. The problem with this is it's just unfair not being able to redeem oneself of a violation in your personal vehicle like everyone else. Not being able to attend traffic school on a violation that happens while driving a personal vehicle affects insurrance rates, and could affect ones job further hendering the economy. Yes, a commercial driver should be held to a higher standard while driving a commercial vehicle; however, driving your personal vehicle a person holding a commercial license should be treated in the same manner as others in their personal vehicle. Another form of discrimination?

  • End "Cultivation = Auto Intent to Distribute" in MA
In Massachusetts, the law states that cultivation of Marijuana alone is enough to convict for intent to distribute. It does not matter if it is one plant or one hundred. This means that anyone arrested with a Marijuana plant(s) will (and have been) be convicted of intent to distribute as well as cultivation, regardless of what the actual evidence suggests. It is the responsibility of the prosecution to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt and that includes intent. As written this law violates due process, and needs to be changed so that those who grow for personal use are not wrongly viewed as drug dealers.

  • Support for the Occupy Movement
In many ways, the Occupy Movement advocates for people in poor health, without resources, and lacking mobility. I do what I can, but I want to do more. Sometimes a simple thank you can go a long way. Please take a moment to sign this petition, and show the people participating in the Occupy Movement that you appreciate the work they’re doing on your behalf.
