The first citizens of America have had their land, their religion and related forms of worship taken by foreign forces...American settlers. They now live primarily in poverty (80% unemployed in Pine Ridge reservation) and need to fight to prevent government from further ruining their land and to obtain reimbursements from treaties signed and never honored. Please do something.

My petition is about the last great civil rights issue, granting the 618,000 Americans who live in our national capital the same right to self-government enjoyed by every other American, by making the District of Columbia the 51st state.

Since 1986, it was the intent of the Florida Legislature that the purpose of public campaign financing was to make qualified candidates more responsive to the voters of the State of Florida and as insulated as possible from special interest groups. On November, the 2nd day to remember in 2010, Florida's Amendment One, to repeal the Public Campaign Financig, was not approved by the required 60% of Florida voters.

Previous petitions which demanded truth in labeling have been disregarded by the FDA due to conflict of interest, neglect, and full blown corruption. We will continue to raise this issue, as the FDA has made it clear that they care more about the interests of their corporate constituents than the health and welfare of American people. Those in the American government should view petitions like this as a herald - that if our representatives continue to disregard the will of the populace, the populace will begin to demand reparations.

My Irish and Portugese ancestors fled the famines and poverty of their countries to find a better life in America just like Anastasio Hernandez-Rojas did when he came here to California from Mexico many years ago. My ancestors helped to build their new country, like Anastasio did, and they faced some of the same opposition from a population that had forgotten their own immigrant roots, but they were not brutally tortured and murdered as Anastasio was in 2010 by our own Immigration authorities. President Obama, we cannot be true to our founding values unless we can actually ensure "liberty and justice for all." We're calling on you to ensure that everyone involved in Anastasio's murder is brought to justice so that his American family, and every American, can continue to believe in our fundamental commitment to human rights.

The development of new communications technologies has caught our society unaware as private, business and government sectors scramble to determine what limitations there are, how our rights to privacy affect what is permissible.

You see a lot of people getting bullied. It has been on the rise this year, and many years before it. People make excuses about why they do it, but unless you are the man upstairs or whatever you may believe in, no one has the right to judge. What we want this petition to do is to eliminate hatred on the internet and take a stand, because 1 out of 4 children are bullied. There are hardly no laws that protect kids or adults that are getting bullied!

I am a single 53 year old at home dad raising two autistic children ages 11 and 12 soon to be 13, and as they get older I am worried about "Bullying" in general. Pennsylvania's new Photo ID law will likely lead to voters being unable to cast their vote in November 2012. The Bucks County Commissioners have a chance to work with community groups to educate as many Bucks County residents as possible, ensuring an honest, efficient and uniform election. We are asking the County Commissioners to convene a Photo ID Task Force by May 15, 2012 to educate the general public about the new Photo ID law and facilitate the gathering of necessary documents. The Task Force must include representatives of the most vulnerable communities in Bucks County and must operate transparently.
