  • Tell Cuomo to Stop Using Prison Slave Labor to Make Hand Sanitizer
The prison population is one of the most vulnerable populations in our society, with millions of prisoners suffering with chronic conditions that leave them immunocompromised, thousands of people living together in close quarters, hundreds of visitors circling through daily, and healthcare facilities that are substandard and understaffed. In many prisons across the country, hand sanitizer recommended by the Centers for Disease Control is forbidden due to its high alcohol content. [source] To force this vulnerable population to make 100,000 gallons of hand sanitizer a week for pennies on the dollar is unconscionable. Join MoveOn members in demanding Governor Cuomo stop using prison slave labor to make hand sanitizer.

  • Ban the use of all Private/Third-Party Trackers on all Government Websites.
U.S. Citizens have a Constitutional right to privacy. That privacy is violated or chilled by the government's implementation of private, third-party trackers and cookies (such as Google CAPTCHA and Analytics) upon government websites. Essentially, the Federal government is explicitly allowing, and facilitating, private companies to build profiles on every American that visits the website - these are sensitive records (DHS, IRS, Healthcare.gov, etc.), the use of which we have a right to have held confidential by the Federal Government. The Federal government is more than capable of building-in its own trackers which do not violate privacy issues, as they do currently with Copyright.gov and the U.S. PTO.

  • Mayflower Workers Are Working Towards A Better Future!
This guarantees that our workers in our communities are not being treated differently from workers in New York and New Jersey, and can peacefully form their union. As Mayflower continues to be successful, the workers should also see the result of their hard work reflected in their wages, benefits, protections, and working conditions.

  • Tell Congress: Fix the Patriot Act!
Right now, Trump thinks he’s unstoppable -- but he’s wrong. Trump has been asking Congress to rubber-stamp a renewal of the Patriot Act that will let his administration continue to spy on Americans without a warrant. With your help, we can stop him! Democratic Senator Ron Wyden and Republican Senator Steve Daines introduced a bill called the Safeguarding Americans’ Private Records Act that will keep Trump from using invasive, warrantless spying on Americans. Because it has bipartisan support, this can pass. What will really help right now is telling your members of Congress -- right now -- to vote for it before the March 15 deadline.

  • Reform The New Michigan Auto Law
Several new sections written into the new law are going to have devastating retroactive consequences for current auto injury survivors that have been receiving care for many years. Several sections are going to make drastic negative changes in the way these patients are going to receive their care in the future. The New Michigan Auto Law makes drastic cuts to the reimbursement rates to almost every company providing services to current auto injury survivor’s and ones in the future. These cuts are as large as 50% and directed at small and large businesses in the healthcare industry. Currently, healthcare organizations make up 32 percent of the top 25 companies in the State of Michigan. These drastic cuts will lead to Michigan Healthcare Workers losing hundreds of thousands of jobs. The majority of small businesses serving auto injury survivor’s will be out of business. If you work or know someone who works for one of these types of businesses, you should be concerned about your future. Here’s an example of a few types of healthcare businesses that will be affected: Home Care Companies Case Managers Hospitals Rehabilitation Centers & Offices Attorneys Medical Supply Companies Doctors Offices Physical and Occupational Therapy Several other sections written into the new law address the increased liability you will now be taking on by reverting back to the tort system. You could now be responsible to pay another families medical bills resulting from a car crash for the rest of their life. Or you might have to go through the trouble of having to sue someone else to try and get your medical bills paid for. Either way is not good. Because of all of this increased liability, we are now going to have to carry a much greater amount of liability insurance that will increase our premiums and offset the savings from giving up our right to lifetime care for our family resulting from a car crash. Reforms are needed to the New Michigan Auto Law. Please sign our electronic form and show your support for reform.

  • Class Action Suit - Health Insurance Companies
Every day millions of patients with medical issues or patients who need necessary procedures are denied proper coverage by their health insurance providers. The patient/s are forced to use less effective drugs or go without due to the fact that they cannot afford the cost. My question is - under what basis do they have the right to tell you which drug or procedure they will pay for? The effective results are the insurance companies are dictating care and practicing medicine without a license. Insurance companies should not be allowed to lessen a persons quality and longevity based on their profitability. Every month the insurance providers take billions of dollars from consumers and then refuse coverage due to their desire to maximize unfair and exorbitant profits. Please help me be David in this David and Goliath fight!!
