  • Ed DeMarco - don't kick my family out of our home!
My name is Ramón S. In 2005, my wife Rosana and I purchased our home to raise our three beautiful children. We love our home, and our neighborhood and we want to stay here. Sadly, we’re being forced out of our home and onto the streets because of one man--Ed DeMarco. Ed DeMarco is the acting director of Federal Housing Finance Agency. With his position at FHFA, DeMarco oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which control more than half the mortgages in the country. DeMarco’s opposition to principal reduction--resetting mortgages to fair market value--is forcing millions of families into foreclosure and blocking our country’s economic progress. Ed DeMarco was appointed by President Bush, but four years later, still works for President Obama. On Tuesday March 19th, Acting Federal Housing Finance Agency Ed DeMarco is testifying before Congress. Will you help me send him a message on Tuesday that he can’t take my family’s home? For years, we faithfully made our monthly payments until we ran into some bad luck. I lost my job and Rosana had to take a leave of absence to care for her mom who was very ill. By the time we both were able to get back to work, we were behind on our monthly mortgage payments. In his position, DeMarco is the boss of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And no matter how much we tried to negotiate, Freddie Mac refused to any modification of our loan because of Ed DeMarco’s irrational and destructive opposition to principal reduction. Since then, we’ve saved the money to buy back our home with the support of a local non-profit, but Freddie Mac still won’t take our offer. Ed DeMarco is hurting my family and millions of other families and dragging down our country's economic progress. We worked hard to buy this home, and we love our community. Our children deserve better than what Ed DeMarco is doing to them. On Tuesday, we can send the message to Ed DeMarco that he needs to do what's right. Can you join me and tell Ed DeMarco that he can't take my home? We want to be able to pay our mortgage every month and remain in the home and community we love.

  • Stop the harrassment of whistle blowers by the U.S. Government
There has been an invasion of privacy, spying on and retaliatory actions against whistle blowers who have exposed the wrongdoings of the Federal Government and law enforcement officials. The right to privacy laws have been invaded and thousands of innocent and unsuspecting Americans are victimized daily by these vindictive acts. Please conduct an investigation of these unjust actions.

  • Advertising Guns on infant wear
Walmart sells 2 different onesies for infants that have gun advertising on the front. The first onesie has a picture of Popeye with the slogan"Welcome to the Gun Show" and is manufactured by King Features Syndicate and the other onesie has the slogan "is it legal to Carry Guns This Big?", which is manufactured by Faded Glory. I feel that walmart should pull these off the shelves because it is using young children to advertise guns and this is extremely insensitive being that they are the innocent victims.

  • A watchdog for the big banks
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is all about fairness for working families. It's the watchdog against predatory and abusive practices by financial institutions. And believe you me, we need a strong watchdog, as we've seen all too clearly. Richard Cordray is eminently qualified for this job. In Ohio, and now on a national level, he has fought fraud and discriminatory practices, taking on the big banks and winning for consumers and taxpayers. Let's tell Mitch McConnell and the Senate Republicans to move quickly to an up-or-down vote of President Obama's nominee, Richard Cordray, as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

  • Get Limits on Political Contributions in Oregon
The Oregon Supreme Court continues to refuse to allow Oregonians to implement limits on political campaign contributions, despite the fact that the voters of Oregon have adopted such limits 4 times. Let us put an end to the games and amend the Oregon Constitution to guarantee that such limits will be implemented and enforced. Senators Prozanski, Beyer and Edwards and Representatives Barnhart and Holvey have introduced a Senate Joint Resolution to do that., SJR 19.

  • Wall Street, why are they above the law?
House values tumbled, many were foreclosed upon and Wall Street got a pass for defrauding America. The bankers even received huge amounts of taxpayer money. Why? The reality is, if an average man robs a bank they go to jail, but if the bankers rob America they get a bonus to spend in an exotic location. RICO charges must be applied to the concerted effort it took to perpetrate this crime. New York has the ability to bring these charges, so why haven't they?

  • Mr. President We Need You - Signed, Working Americans
98% of Americans are getting short changed. Most of the wealth is in the hands of the top 2% while everyone else is struggling. Wall Street is in great shape but many Americans don't have a job or their salary doesn't come close to paying the bills. Just when it seems like things couldn't get worse the Sequester will cut more jobs and services.
