• Unsafe At These Speeds!!
In a recent report published by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Alabama Appleseed Center for Law and Justice over 300 poultry workers and past workers interviewed had suffered some type of significant work-related injury or illness because of punishing processing line speeds of up to 150 birds per minute. Now the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service wants to raise the speeds!

  • Saying No to Local PORK
The intersection East of Charleston Illinois where IL Rt-16 and East Harrison Avenue cross is currently under a proposal to spend in excess of 3 million (before properties are purchased) to renovate the intersection. They say it is for "safety" reasons; however, it is really to benefit a local attorney who is scheming to enhance his land development plans. The city of Charleston even hired his survey company to plot out the intersection options. Once these were presented to the community in an open presentation, while attending the viewing, I heard nothing from the community people who were for spending so much money and doing anything to such extremes. No forum was presented to voice objections in an open forum. Objections were to be submitted to the state highway department where they could secretly be made to disappear. Things are silent while the abuse continues behind the scenes. I am sure there are experts on higher levels that have coached the community on just how to stage the acceptance of such PORK projects. We are sick of this kind of waste and it needs to stop. There is no such thing as FREE money. We as a community want to say NO to it.

  • Ask Coca-Cola to Stop Sponsoring Cruel Rodeos
The Swire Coca-Cola bottling company sponsors the Reno, Pendleton Round-Up, and Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeos. SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) has documented extreme animal cruelty at these rodeos. Some of these abuses include horse shocking, horse tripping, and calf jerk-downs leading to serious injuries and death, as at the 2009 Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo, where a horse called Strawberry Fudge was killed. To see some of the footage click here: Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo (http://bit.ly/YoTbE5), Reno Rodeo (http://bit.ly/XHsg7G) Pendleton Rodeo (http://bit.ly/11Esm6s)) SHARK has reached out to the Swire Coca-Cola divisions that are responsible for the sponsorships of each rodeo, asking them to withdraw in light of the animal cruelty. After watching our videos, Swire still refuse to stop sponsoring rodeos. Please sign this petition asking Swire Coca-Cola to stop sponsoring animal abusing rodeos. The Coca-Cola animal welfare policy clearly states; “The Coca-Cola Company does not endorse or condone any practice of cruelty to animals, and the Company does not sponsor or promote events where there is a risk of physical harm to animals. Additionally, The Coca-Cola Company does not sponsor rodeos or bullfighting events.” Both Coca-Cola and Swire Coca-Cola have chosen to ignore their own policy. • Demand Banking Rights
Bankers have created massive wealth, but their greed comes at the peoples’ expense. These laws will make loans available to most people, and yet banks will still make a decent profit. These laws will change banking from a system that rewards career criminals, to one that rewards good banking.

  • Delta: don't steal my miles when I die!
Are you a Delta SkyMiles member? If so, try not to die....ever. Delta has just quietly changed its frequent flier program for the second time in 2013. The new rules, as of March 2013, say "miles may not be transfered...upon death." However, the 2012 rule book states: "While the Miles expire upon a Member’s death, the Administrator or Executor of the Member’s Estate may request Delta reinstate and transfer the Miles from the deceased Member’s account to one or more members’ accounts." That paragraph is now gone. How can Delta do this after advertising "miles that don't expire" ?!!?! • Stop the Corporate Owned, For Profit Immigrant Detention Center
The City of Joliet is currently proposing building a corporate owned, for profit immigration detention center. If allowed, it would be Illinois' first and would make way for other similar facilities to be built in the state. Help us send a clear message that we don't appreciate deficit expanding, for profit, detention centers that overwork and underpay their employees and cut corners in medical care and proper treatment of their detainees.

  • Fraudulent, Forged and Intentionally Altered Documents"
All Court Records of Proceedings and County Recorders Office Records reflect the written History of our Great State of California for future generations to review, enjoy and to provide educational tools for future generations. These records are the true History of the Great State of California and as such, are a valuable and irreplacable State treasure. Whereas, there have been multiple Fraudulent, Forged and Intentionally Altered documents (such as robo-signing among various others) placed in the Court and County Recorders Offices for the purpose of manipulating the records in order to further there efforts to illegally foreclose on California Citizens Real Estate.

  • Institute Mandatory Public Funding of all Elections
We all know that campaign financing has devolved into bribery pure and simple. Because of this, representation is proportional to the amount of money offered, not "one person, one vote".

  • CCO Transparency & Accountabilitiy
Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO) were created by the Oregon legislature to provide better services at reduced cost for those on Medicaid (Oregon Health Plan), however these CCO can be private for profit companies that have little accountability to the local community and are not being required to have public meetings or records of what they are planning regarding the health care of our most vulnerable citizens.
