Struggling as I am, when I receive a check from someone or a company and take it to the bank it is drawn on, and they charge me a fee because I do not have an account with them is just plain wrong. When every penny you make counts, having a bank charge you $7.00 to $15.00 really hurts!

Big Wall Street megabanks are still putting American taxpayers at risk. Big banking institutions like Bank of America and Citibank carry more assets than they have capital to cover. That means that if those assets go south, the banks can't recover on their own. And when a bank's failure means the failure of the American economy, the taxpayers are forced to step in. It's called "Too Big To Fail." It should also be called "too risky for the American economy" and "too reckless to continue." This is the practice that brought our economy to the brink once before. That's why I have a new, bipartisan plan to end Too Big To Fail, and break up Wall Street megabanks for good. It would require that banks carry enough capital to cover their own losses, or force them to downsize so that they are no longer a risk to the American economy. But where will this work be sent? It should be sent to the United States.

The Florida Legislature has used illegal and unconstitutional tactics to pass this bad bill. The Legislature failed to adhere to the requirements of Florida's Constitution. If the Governor signs this bill, there will be litigation initiated to defeat this illegal and unconstitutional bill which litigation will be unnecessarily costly to Florida. The bill is unconstitutional and the process used to pass it was unconstitutional.

Insurance companies are constantly raising their rates on homeowners' property coverage even when they have paid the premium for years with no claims. Policyholders often find out when they do have a claim, certain conditions are not covered. The policy should highlight fully the things or conditions not covered so the consumer knows what they are paying for. This should be true for home warranties as well. In recent years, insurance companies have been allowed to base their homeowner premiums on replacement costs so they can get the most money possible from the consumer. The consumer should have a choice in this matter where they currently do not. Whether you own or rent you are affected by these high costs. In case of renters, property owners must pass these costs on in the form of higher rents.

Unpaid taxes by big banks using robo-signed documents have foreclosed properties fraudulently, impacting the county budget for police, fire and education services.Big Banks must prove they own the note/mortgage according to AB1602 and SB 1470, laws effective on 1/1/13. Fraudulent foreclosures must be reported to the CA Attorney General by the Recorder.
