Governor Scott gutted the Insurance Commission. He intended to promote competition by bringing in more insurance companies. It has not worked, and the average home owner has seen his rate go up by upwards of 30% each of the past three years.

A petition to retract the Reagan administration regulations on private citizens making fuel Alcohol, for personal use. We used to be allowed to make fuel for personal vehicles, under Carter, at about a dollar a gallon. If we were permitted to do that again, the oil companies would have a serious incentive to lower the cost of gasoline.

Why should gun owners not be required to have liability insurance for their weapons like car owners are for their cars? Save taxpayer dollars and let insurance companies pay for the background checks and keep track of their customers guns and charge for it in the premiums. The insurance should pay for damage regardless of who fires the gun, just like with cars. It would be a start and the premiums on assault rifles and big ammo clips could make them prohibitive to own. Lax gun laws are just more corporate welfare. Use an insurance mandate for gun owners as a way to fight corporate welfare with corporate welfare. For a whole new bunch of new customers, the insurance lobby would probably be willing to contribute to enough congressmen to get it passed as they did with the ACA. Since criminals are less likely to buy the insurance we could probably seize (for lack of proof-of-insurance) a lot of gangsters' guns. Since guns can last hundreds of years, there is no force removing them from circulation which results in their accumulation. This could be a force to decrease the number of weapons on the street. Seized, unclaimed weapons should be melted down.

It's time to stop corporations from buying US elections. We need to put power back into the Federal Election commission.

Bank of America has far more foreclosures pending against Hartford homeowners than any other bank because of their own bad business practices, and because other companies hire them to evict hard working families. They also makes a practice of foreclosing on homes in inner cities while preserving suburban homes. It is not right to let a company that is so aggressive and hostile to the people of Hartford continue to provide services. Hartford City Council will vote on Wednesday, February 13th to decide whether or not to renew the contract with Bank of America to provide the city's primary banking services.

Yes, several times. I put in money to my savings account to cover an automatic withdrawal. The bank processed the withdrawal before the deposit even though the deposit was there before the withdrawal. I tried to rectify this problem with them. to no avail. There ws more than enough money in the account to cover the transaction but the bank ate up the deposit with over $100 in fees.
