• Investigate Chase Bank & J.P. Morgan Chase for predatory, illegal and unethical banking practices...
Investigate Chase Bank & J.P. Morgan Chase for predatory, illegal and unethical banking practices against it's account holders. Have you been subject too what appears to be a protracted, consistent and calculated manipulation of your account by Chase for it's own gain and profit through calculated manipulation of "pending" charges and fraudulent overdraft fees, and by a systematic processing of debit card transactions not in the order in which customers conducted them but instead from the highest-to-lowest transaction balances; the change allegedly caused customers to drain their accounts quickly and maximized the overdraft fees assessed against them. Goldman Sachs isn’t the only rotten apple on Wall Street. They weren’t alone in defrauding investors and America. JP Morgan Chase, along with other major U.S. banks, have made billions in ‘deceptive fees’ in the form of real-time mobile alerts, ‘selective transaction’ postings and other tactics. For example, Chase’s real-time mobile alerts — until recently — weren’t exactly real-time. Overdraft alerts in the past were always sent the following business day. This feature wasn’t designed with the account holder in mind — only the bank. Another deceptive tactic employed by Chase and other U.S. banks is selective transaction posting. The banks essentially cherry-picked transactions to levy overdraft fees, choosing to post larger purchases first over smaller ones. How’s that for siphoning your money? Of course, Wall Street and the banks will all deny any wrongdoing, but the facts clearly show otherwise. After trillions in taxpayer bailouts, and billions in deceptive fees, it’s time for U.S. banks to have their day in court, too.

  • Dump gun & ammo stocks
The NRA is a wholy owned subsidiary of the gun and ammo manufacturers. The way to rein in the gun lobby is for all mutual funds, pensions, and individuals to sell these pernicious company stocks. I propose a 'pledge' drive (and MoveOn is just the group to do it) to have people owning gun stocks, and their surrogates to pledge to sell their stocks at a loss in order to drive home the public outrage with the gun lobby.

  • Persistent Auto Coverage Penalties
My auto-insurance rates doubled because I let my auto insurance lapse on my vehicles while travelling out of the country. I was in Canada for 9 months and my insurance carrier would not lower the coverage on my vehicles. The vehicles were in my garage and not being used, however once I returned to the US, the insurer attempted to charge me 3-5 times the amount I once paid.

  • Save the schools, Stop privitizing liquor stores and Don't rig the electorate vote
All of us are suffering. Wether it is our children without a teacher in school. Pennsylvania's governor has not accepted the insurance exchanges to benefit especially the poor and the children. I have seen first hand in health care how so many people are suffering at the backs of the heartless politicians.

  • Stop Governor Parnell's Bill to Give Away Billions to the Oil Industry
Governor Parnell is proposing a bill to give billions in tax breaks to the oil industry with no strings attached. This would drain our savings and put us immediately into deficit spending, leading to cuts in education and other government services. It's our oil and we must get the maximum value for it, as required by the Alaska Constitution.

  • Don't Privatize Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits Shops
Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett is once again selling out our children and eliminating much-needed funding for our schools, and risking 5,000 good-paying jobs here in Pennsylvania. He's already cut billions from education, and now, if he privatizes the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits Shops, the $500 million generated annually would disappear. These funds help pay for good quality schools and other necessary programs across the Commonwealth. Tell him not to sell out our children and to NOT dismantle the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and save 5,000 jobs.

  • Capping the Payday Lending Rate in Kentucky
Presently, Payday Lenders are permitted to charge up to 400% interest and fees for short term (payday) loans. The Federal government caps payday lending rates at 36% near military bases and lenders continue to profit from the business. In the Kentucky House of Representatives, the Chair of the Banking and Insurance committee, Jeff Greer, Brandenburg, refuses to bring the issue up for vote in committee. Please lend your support to advancing common sense legislation affecting those in the margins of our society.

  • Allow Principal Reductions on ALL underwater mortgages
I signed a petition encouraging him to take the bold step of replacing Edward DeMarco, acting head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, with someone who'll do the right thing for the economy and the 12 million families who are in danger of losing their home. Fannie should allow principal reductions on ALL homeowners who are underwater both current and delinquent. Why do the banks send you a letter decling a loan modification and then go on to offer for you to short sale it for market value to someone else instead of giving you a loan modification at market value? WE THE PEOPLE ask President Obama to replace Ed Demarco Ed DeMarco must go ! Please sign & forward: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/allow-principal-reductions-replace-ed-demarco.html

  • CO. Congress - Push Amendment vs Corp Personhood
In Nov.2012, the voters of Colorado voted 3 to 1 in favor of Amendment 65, essentially requesting the Colorado Legislature to go on record as opposing the January 2010 Supreme Court ruling Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, which basically legalized bribery of elected and administrative officials of the government. But the CO. Congress has so far ignored the people's will. Perhaps they feel that no on is watching. Sign this petition to tell our legislators do their job and pass (in CO.) a draft US constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.

  • Prison Profit is Immoral and Should Be Illegal
Anyone, public or private, profiting from people's imprisonment in any way (from prison work, etc.) is completely immoral and should be illegal. That anyone can profit from people being in prison (through companies like Prison Blues, and many others) encourages people who can profit to put people in prison and keep them there for as long as possible. Prison profit is a multi-billion dollar business, and is booming in California.

  • Tell Rep. Miller: Hold Hearings on Citizens United
In the first presidential election cycle since the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision, an estimated $6 billion was spent, with more than $1 billion coming from non-party outside groups. By some accounts, approximately 31 percent of outside spending was funded by "secret" undisclosed donors. For our democracy to flourish, we must find new, meaningful ways for average citizens to have a stronger voice in the process, and citizens have a right and a need to know who is spending money to influence the outcome of our elections.
