U.S. mortgage lenders will benefit in a deal to settle charges that they wrongfully foreclosed on many homeowners. Under the deal, 12 mortgage lenders will pay more than $9 billion to compensate hundreds of thousands of people whose homes were seized improperly, a result of abuses such as "robo-signing." That's when banks automatically approved foreclosures without properly reviewing documents. Taxpayers will end up subsidizing them for the settlement money they will have to pay. The Internal Revenue Service regards the lenders' compensation to homeowners as a cost incurred in the course of doing business. Result: It's fully tax-deductible.

Any agency that garnishes a person's wages and tax returns for a home foreclosures.

Corporations have been deemed people by the US Supreme Court, they are allowed to spend unlimited funds and hide behind free speech while not being held to the same standards as any private citizen. This petition will allow corporations, their excutives, board members and major stockholders be for their criminal behavior. Federal and state attorneys can now bring criminal charges against any corporation as if they were ordinary people who break the law. That they be punished in the same manner when found guilty. Facing incarceration in federal or state prisons maybe then corporations will no longer expect to be ABOVE THE LAW!

Business Roundtable is a group of Conservative CEO's whose companies revenue is around $7.3 Trillion. Many of the companies are taxpayer funded like Boeing or have received bailout funds in addition to their normal subsidies. They shouldn't have more of a say than we do.

One of the brightest and most active young leaders of the internet generation, Aaron Swartz, took his life last week. He did so at least in part due to over-zealous prosecution of a violation of a Terms of Service breach; a violation that had already been resolved between Swartz and the institution that was affected. This sort of violation should be treated as any other civil breach of contract, rather than as a criminal offense.

Greedy and criminal Wall Street bankers stole our homes, our savings, and our jobs while destroying our economy. Now that some Big Banks are agreeing to settlements to repay small portions of the destruction they caused, the IRS says they can deduct the cost of those settlements from their taxes. We pay twice and they get away with it! The Administration's top priority should be helping struggling homeowners stay in their homes and avoid foreclosure, not padding the bottom lines of Wall Street barons. Keep Wisconsin a strong union-friendly state. Right-to-work laws weaken the unions, and it has been known for decades that right-to-work states have lower wages and lesser-quality benefits and a lower standard of living than states with a strong union legacy, such as Wisconsin. You only need to look at the poverty rampant in states like Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, states with strong right-to-work laws, to see how bad right-to-work is for the citizens and the state economies. States like Wisconsin with strong pro-labor histories have higher wages,better benefits, and a higher standard of living for their citizens than their right-to-work counterparts. This is not union propaganda, but established fact. We do not want to follow in the steps of Michigan and have right-to-work rammed down our throats in the dead of night.

According to the Wall Street Journal (March 8, 2010), roughly __40%__ of your cable television bill pays for professional sports licensing fees. The NFL's 2011 revenue (a 501(c)(6) non-profit that pays no taxes) was over $9 Billion! If you don't watch professional sports, why pay for it?!

WENDY'S has cut back full-time employees to part-time employees to avoid offering their employees HEALTH care. I like WENDY'S cheeseburgers but I plan to stop patronizing them until they treat their workers wth more equity.
