• Washington Post and other papers hid the huge story on Murdock's attempt to buy the presidency.
Rupert Murdock's attempt to control the presidency is additional evidence that media conglomerates need to be broken up. It is increasingly clear that those holding the reins of great wealth are using their power to control everything possible.

  • 1 Million Dollar Bonuses
Bonuses paid to taxpayer salaried employees. (92 Employees of the federal housing gave themselves a million dollar bonus plus their salary. I think they are way out of line. They want us to pay their salary and now they have taken a million each on top of that. Where do they get off. Why cant we put a stop to to this rip off of the American people.

  • Comcast AntiTrust Action
Comcast Cable is a monopoly, and should be investigated for actions contrary to the law, such as price gouging. Internet and cable should be available to Americans at reasonable prices, and with fair competitive options.

  • No Early Withdrawal Penalty From Retirement Accounts
Although very fortunately I have not been effected by the unemployment crisis in this country like so many other Americans I haven't heard that anyone has raised the question about waiving any early withdrawal penalties for people who have no other savings to fall back on other than a retirement account and have to use that money to pay their bills. It certainly only seems fair to give people in this situation a break on that. I'd like to know if this issue has been raised by anyone else, and if so I would certainly support it.

  • Michael Duke CEO of Walmart must pull Assault Weapons
Americans all over have been touched by acts of violence. 26 angels were taken on Dec.14th . We need to end the sale of assault weapons. Wal-Mart needs to take a stand and pull these weapons, it may not make them money but it will save lives and there isn’t a dollar amount that you can put on that.

  • Spitzer for head of SEC
We have yet to have a head of SEC who isn't bullied by Wall Street. Eliot Spitzer has proved that he understands how Wall Street works, he is not intimidated by their bluster, and he wouldn't use his office to audition for a position in a Wall Street firm. We cannot afford to waste one of the most savvy experts on high finance in our country.

  • LOWER CAR INSURANCE RATES
When moving to Detroit, my car insurance rate went through the roof! Since we are required to have car insurance, we shouldn't have to pay more because we have chosen to live in a specific location.

  • Campaign finance transparency
During the last election, dark money flooded the state, especially for the US senate race. Many of these contributions were made by non-profits that do not have to disclose their donors. I propose that any entity that spends more than $25,000 on political ads in our state must disclose their donors.

  • TAX ON OFF-SHORED ILL GOTTEN GAINS
Nearly forty three trillion dollars of US assets have been deposited in Caribbean banking havens, much of t money held in so called estate and gift planning trusts. On much of this money, income tax has never been paid to our US Treasury, while the beneficiaries consume unimaginable amounts of Federal Government services, both personally and commercially. While advocates for the mega-rich continue to spin the alleged fiscal cliff as an event that threatens us as badly as Dan Quayle's asteroids or the Mayan end of the world, and other fifth columnists such as 'No Labels" try to intimidate and trick moderates and independnts into 'bipartisan' support for a Grand Deal that stnds only to benefit the wealthy and their bought and paid for advocates adn politicians, the rest of us face yet another challenge to our ability to be happy, prosper, and enjoy any of the goods one may win in the US and to have even a minimally decent lifestyle. So why not tax this Ill Gotten Gain at a fair rate? Even a ten percent flat amnesty penalty on it allowing the net money to be on-shored agian would pretty much pay off the deficit?

  • Exchange eating for McDonalds Christmas
McDonald's is twisting the arms of franchisees to be open Christmas day. I suggest a movement to call your local franchise and tell then you will eat there during the holidays only if they will close Christmas day (and eat there more if they also close early Christmas Eve). Not a religious matter for me. A matter of employees having the ability to chose what meets their needs.

  • Eliminate "15 minutes of fame" syndrome
Morgan Freeman put out an excellent piece pointing out that these mass killers are looking for notoriety, fame and the recognition which they feel they never have received. Denying them that recognition removes one incentive for committing these horrific crimes.
