Every American has the right to gather in a peaceful assembly on a public sidewalk. On May Day 2014, choose the sidewalk in front of our local TV station. Bring your signs. Bring your stories. Bring you anger and your compassion. Bring your suntan lotion. Create an event on facebook or by twitter or by contacting a local pre-existing club. This petition is regarding a ban on the minimum wage increase that that Fallin signed into law. We just cant make it on $7.25 an hour. The cost of living has increased but Fallin doesnt want to increase the wage for anyone. She thinks its acceptable to earn $7.25 an hour. Lets see her try to feed her family on $7.25 an hour. Middle class families all over Oklahoma will suffer.

Governor Haslam lied to teachers about giving us a raise this year. Tn teachers are already among the lowest paid in the US. Governor Haslam needs to know that this is not sound policy and TN teachers will NOT forget the continued disrespect handed down by the governor. We will remember come election day….

I'm nervous that this might not pass again...and upset at the thought that we might lose the House reform of the tip credit.

Engineering Technologists are sometimes subjugated to the level of Technician in many organizations effectively reducing the salaries of the individuals. This has a profound effect on their livelihoods. This is especially apparent with young graduates. When this occurs it nullifies the junior and senior years of academia and the individuals are left with student loan payments that command a higher percentage of their paycheck. The individuals are paid at the Associate degree level rather than if they have achieved a Baccalaureate degree.

Companies should not be allowed to terminate an employee at will. This is a huge cause of our outstanding unemployment statistics. Congress should pass a bill that protects folks from loosing there jobs because of the following reasons: -budgetary cuts -loosing business -discrimination Just like folks have insurance for cars, insurance to save folks job when a business is failing should be mandatory for every business. This would definitely lower the unemployment rate stats. Also, only a judge should be able to terminate a person's job. Afterall, without a job folks are unable to live. The reasons business provide for terminating a persons job is actually criminal. Companies have too much authority in this area.

As citizens we must compel politicians to fight on our behalf. Concerned citizens need to step up and be the change they want to see in the world.
