raise the minimum wageToo many people are being forced to live on and try to support families on a minimum wage that has been behind the annual inflation rate for too long. shame on all of us for letting this go on. You have the power to help change this: please sign this petition to let your lawmakers know that it's time for them to make a positive change for the people of this state. wouldn't you pay a few pennies more for a burger or fries to help make this happen? (the people who pay the minimum wages think you won't!) Most of these people have to apply for and receive gov. assistance just to help them and their children survive. let's do the right thing! show them that we respect each-other even if they don't.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by richard d. smith

UTAHIt is time to promote the underpaid work force in this State. Our state's current minimum wage is $7.25. That's not enough for anyone to live on. We deserve an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected. Join with me in calling on our state legislature to pass legislation to raise the minimum wage to $12.” (or higher!)11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Penny54

Raise the minimum wage in California. As a psychologist, I see many people who have stories of them doing well and suddenly having to change jobs and take minimum wage jobs to cope. I see so many people struggling to make ends meet and this way, crime would be decreased and people would be glad to work certain jobs. They know their would be able to pay bills and take care of their family. A $26,000 paycheck as a minimum would greatly help the economy and all people children and parents concerned. Food and essentials like insurance and car payments would be easier to meet. Most miminum wage earners are white, parents and have college degrees. Lets educate ourselves and behave humanely. Americans and our future generations deserve this.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lily Bhattacharya PsyD

Give South Carolinians a LIVING WAGE!South Carolina, a "right to work" State, an oxymoronic phrase if there ever was one, when "right to work" means right to work for the least amount your Employer deigns to offer you. NO benefits, NO Vacation or Sick Time and NO advocacy if the Boss decides to Terminate you without cause. If anyone out there agrees with me, sign this Petition to call for our State Legislators to pass legislation to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 per hour! Why is it, State or Federal, they NEVER miss an opportunity to raise their OWN Wages and beneifts? If the minimim Wage had kept up with inflation, it would be over $20.00 per hour by now. The Economy would be BOOMING, and everyone would have a grin on his or her face. WHY don't they like smiling faces in this State anymore?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Nancy Lyttle

Raise the WageThe purpose of minimum wage is to legally require that an individual gets paid enough to afford the cost of living off 40 hours of work. According the the US Census Bureau, Utah's per person average income for 2012 (the most recent year with data) was only $23,794, over $4,000 below the national average! With the rising cost of living for everyone and an increase in tuition of 5.6% this year for secondary education, minimum wage in Utah no longer fulfills these requirements and must be raised. Basic necessities in modern society such as food, water, a basic cell phone for work, transportation, education, and a roof over one's head become harder to obtain with each passing year. I propose that raising minimum wage to $10.10 would satisfy the cost of living for individuals in Utah and give the state the financial boost it needs in light of its recent drop in tourism8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alex Hyer

William RussellThis petition concerns both a fair wage for honest work and increasing the value of food stamps and welfare, so working single Mothers, et al, can feed their children and live above the poverty level in the richest nation on the planet. There's no excuse for a Christian nation to force honest workers into poverty. What would Jesus say?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by William Russell

A call for the Arizona State Government to raise the minimum wage.Could you live on $7.90 an hour? That is $316. for a 40 hour week. Deducted from that will be Social Security and any taxes and other dues or company expenses. Yet many thousands of Arizonans are asked to get by on this minimum wage. It is time for our Governor, Senate and Legislature to raise the minimum wage to at least $10.50 an hour (still to low). You can do you part by signing this petition3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Re.
