Having struggled for years to "make ends meet" (they never did!), I know how hard it is to earn only minimum wages. The whole state benefits when people can earn more, and social service/public aid can consequently be reduced.

I feel sorry for the people in Missouri that is trying to raise a family and unable to exist on the current minimum wage. In the meantime, many companies and corporations are exploring these employees for their own enormous profits. We should all care for one another!

I am starting a petition to try and help people who are on minimum wage salaries earn some sort of a living. It's pretty sad when we have people out there in the work force who work hard every day not being to even make a livable wage for their toil. This needs to be fixed NOW!

This is the fricking South and someone should tell the GOP to wake up to the new ways the country is changing.

Our state's (Missouri) current minimum wage is $7.25. That's not enough for anyone to live on. We deserve an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected. Join with me in calling on our state legislature to pass legislation to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 or higher.

I live in North Carolina, Castle Hayne growing up and hearing stories about how if I did well in school and got a job I could move out, start a family, buy a car... but I find myself instead being unable to even afford Car Insurance. My mother has to drive me everywhere as I just don't have the money for car insurance which is legally required for a license. I go hungry many nights because there isn't enough to go grocery shopping with. I am a transwoman who needs GRS that Medicaid won't pay to treat, but I can't get the money to save up for the surgery. I'm tired of living like I'm a third world country, and I know others are too. I see long lines at the food bank from people blaming themselves when the real problem is in the economy. I am an Office Aide working for a State Funded Disability Agency where I make minimum wage at less than twenty hours a week. I work with our disabled, I make new filing systems, I type more than 50 WPM. But it doesn't pay me a living wage. Most of it goes to gas to get to work. It's insane. I think it's time we demanded a higher wage. I'm tired of being hungry.

We are so behind on what we should be getting paid per hour. It's time to raise the minimum wage here in Wisconsin like the lawmakers have done in Connecticut, and D.C. $10 - $12.00 per hour would be a great first step so we can earn a liveable wage. Ya give enough tax breaks to the ultra rich, give those that actually do the work a chance to provide for their families without having to rely on State &Federal assistance!

Is the extremely expensive living in this area of the country, and the majority of us work around the clock just to make ends meet. I simply raising the minimum wage, it would greatly improve the quality of all of our lives.

We need to increase our state's minimum wage so that families like mine, who are just barely getting by, can have a better life.

The 99% needs to realize we still have a voice even though we don't have the money.
