  • Tell Nevada State Legislature to raise the minimum wage!
The current minimum wage of $8.25 an hour is NOT enough to live on. A person working 40 hours a week (and it is rare to find companies hiring full time these days) for $8.25 an hour will only make $1320 a month BEFORE taxes. This is NOT enough for a single person to live on, let alone someone supporting a family. When companies do not have to pay our workers enough to live on, taxpayers take up the burden when these hard working people are forced to still turn to welfare assistance to make ends meet. Hard-working people deserve the dignity of earning a living wage.

  • Give Oregon a Raise!
Oregon's minimum wage is $9.10. per hour which equates to less than 19K per year for a full-time worker. This is corporate slavery. The vast majority of low wage workers are adults, many are parents trying to support a family. Whether you are stocking shelves, flipping burgers, or cleaning bathrooms, every worker deserves to be paid fairly. Paying Oregon workers a real living wage would lift tens of thousands out of poverty and off government assistance, stimulating the economy and expanding opportunity and prosperity.

  • Minimum wage leads to poverty.
My petition is to help working people especially working mothers get a decent wage . People who work for a living deserve to profit from their work. They need a living wage. The Pope supports this mission amongst others.California supported the United Farm Workers to get a minimum wage thirty years ago and must now support the working people.

  • Minimum wage here is a joke
Our state's current minimum wage is $7.25. That's not enough for anyone to live on. We deserve an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected. Join with me in calling on our state legislature to pass legislation to raise the minimum wage.

  • A Living Wage For All Washingtonians
Wages have been stagnant for so long it is impacting our economy negatively. People have no buying power as they can barely keep a roof over their heads. It is long past time for government to see to the welfare of the taxpaying public and their needs.

  • The most expensive state needs a higher minimum wage!
I and many of my friends were laid off in the Great Recession and have not been able to get our good-paying jobs back since most were sent overseas to feed corporate profit/greed. Pretty soon all the high tech people will have no fast-food workers or security guards left to serve them.
