Taking a page out of the playbooks of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, extreme Arizona lawmakers are pushing a series of bills attacking firefighters, teachers, nurses and others who work hard to keep our communities safe and strong. These bills would lead to larger class sizes in our schools, more dangerous working conditions for firefighters and police officers and making our communities less safe. As in Wisconsin and Ohio, these measures are not about balancing Arizona’s budget and are not about jobs. They are about the destructive political agenda of right-wing politicians and their corporate funders are pushing across the country to consolidate their power.

We believe the sacrifices of our pilots deserve Longevitiy credit for our time on furlough as other carriers have set this standard. Apple stock is the highest it has ever been. At the same time workers in China work in the worst conditions and suicide is becoming a common practice for workers with no life. It is time for Apple users and Apple stock holders to speak OUT. Let Apple know you want them to bring jobs home where workers are protected. Apple brings over 7000 jobs to China. We need those jobs home. Time for Apple to be loyal to the country that started their business.

The governor is proposing a fifty-cent increase on the already outrageous cigarette tax,tax on candy,tax on soda....No more.

Currently, there are projects in mind to log massive amounts of Oregon's temperate rainforests this year. If these projects ensue, the forests that we know and love in Oregon will be permanently altered. The surrounding lands, which include residential lands, will be affected. Most waterways will be impacted. The mountainous headwaters where most of the logging will occur will be irreparably damaged: THE TREES PROTECT OUR WATER SOURCE! Not to mention the toxicity that will follow from an inability to flush out the chemical herbicides required by state rules to be sprayed on all cut lands! Erosion! Death of already endangered animal and plant species! So, do you want clean fresh air and water that Oregon is prized and known for? Do you want your children's children to know and appreciate the wildlife that we do right now? Do you still want to see these mountains, intact and as they stand now, for years to come? It has been noted lately the huge amount of profits Apple has made in the past couple years and the almost $100 Billion in cash reserves the company now has. Apple has done not only through innovation but through exploitation of the Chinese people.

Coach Ayo Hart has been a vital member and developer of the Fox Lane girl's basketball community/program for the last 11 years, not only as the coach of a much-improved and competitive varsity program that has jumped up in the state rankings, but as the organizer of clinics and programs (voluntarily) to develop younger players in our district that aspire to be basketball players. Her commitment to her Fox Lane team and this program was questioned by some, and is at the root of her immediate dismissal on 1/17/12. Many of her players and their parents, as well as those who have engaged with Coach Hart personally and professionally, do not agree with this assessment, but were not asked how we felt before the Board voted on 1/25.

Grover Norquist, a protege of Ronald Reagan, is President of Americans for Tax Reform. Instead of Walmart demanding that companies produce products cheaper in China, they should demand that American companies produce them as cheap as they can in America. So please sign this petition.

America has more people wanting work than it has jobs, thanks in part to automation. Let's take up the slack by giving workers a sabbatical. I suggest a flexible system so people could choose when to redeem their sabbatical credits. The length of the credits would depend on the ratio of workforce to jobs and the sabbatical pay rate would depend on the economy and the individual's reported income taxes; unemployment insurance would be renamed a sabbatical tax. Turn unemployment into something that is earned instead of spurned. Let young workers work before they get to take a break. Almost every business or institution already offers vacations to their workers; simply expand the concept. Currently our unemployment is put on a debit card and processed by major banks. In fact J.P. Morgan has had so much business they needed more help. They outsourced those jobs to India. I believe all unemployment money and jobs should stay here.

Americans should all share the cost of an effective, functioning government. There's no reason that teachers, laborers, and working Americans of all stripes should pay a lower tax rate that Mitt Romney.
