  • Make Nevada County Roundup Free
Hardware and gardening stores in Nevada County are promoting the sale of Monsanto's Round-Up as a weed killer. All for good reason, it's Spring... and, money talks. Though, the community at large supported Prop 37: Label GMO Campaign Legislation. When President Barack Obama signed H.R. 933, Monsanto Protection Act became a Federal mandate giving Monsanto the permission to have complete immunity to commit crimes against small farmers and nature without any judicial checks and balances. The least concerned citizens can do on a local level is boycott Monsanto's Round-Up, and discourage vendors from promoting products, and agricultural practices that are deleterious to the health and safety of our home communities. Please inform your local vendors to remove Round-Up from their shelves, and customers to boycott its sale.

  • Stop the government from dictating what kind of light bulbs you use.
The new led and other light bulbs give me a headache and have mercury in them. I want to purchase the old regular light bulbs that I have used all my life. The EPA has required stores to stop selling these and only sell the new ones.

  • Ban Fracking in California
Fracking is an unregulated, lethal, toxic gas/oil extraction process exempted from the Clean Air, Clean Water, Clean Drinking Water, Superfund, Environmental Policy Acts. Exempt means they are not liable for and are immune from any claims of any damages or harm inflicted on the environment, homeowners, landowners, municipalities, food crops, farm animals, ground water, aquifers, rivers, streams, air, ecosystems as a result of their operation which has a history of devastating and deadly accidents, spills, and explosions.

  • Rep. Anthony De Luca, please support a BAN on fracking in Illinois!
The gas and oil industries have their eyes on at least 17 counties in southern Illinois, as prospects for fracking. Myths about “clean” energy must be dispelled. Those living in the vicinity of where fracking is done have suffered deaths of their animals, have unexplained illnesses, constant headaches, nausea, and deaths. The unleashed methane has caused water faucets, when turned on, to become “blow torches,” and even homes to explode. Wells have exploded. Millions of gallons of water coupled with toxic chemicals are used to inject into rock formations to break them up, the “run-offs” of which foul our waters . . . .and where is the end to water befoulment? Fracking also can cause earthquakes. Fracking is just plain dangerous to our environment period!

  • Protect Our Local Watershed
The neglect of our local riparian habitats must stop. Implementation of BNWR's mandated purpose must occur through a broad and transparent application of water management- going beyond the present insufficient regard as proposed in the initial Comprehensive Conservation Plan- Environmental Impact Study (EIS)

  • No fracking in Beautiful California, Senator Norma Torres.
We don't know what fracking will do to our water supplies. We don't know what the chemicals fracking uses will do to our soils. Our bountiful agriculture and healthy citizens are more important than riches for a few.

  • Clean Energy - Make It Happen
We are all affected by the hidden costs of fossil fuels and nuclear power. They are bad for our environment, for our health, and for our ability to compete with regions switching to more secure and sustainable energy systems. The faster we switch to renewables, the sooner we will avoid these costs.
