• Stop Proposed Natural Gas Drilling in Goleta
    SoCal Gas seeks amendments to the Santa Barbara County Code (Coastal Zoning Ordinance) in order to directionally drill 4 natural gas wells at their aging Goleta gas storage facility on the California coast. The drilling locations are in close proximity to a wildlife rich tidal slough, 200 space mobile home park, major airport, recreational beach and state university (UCSB). SoCal Gas has already paid for structural supports for two homes in the park due to gas compressor vibrations. What could happen during and after drilling?

    People have the right to know what the ingredients are, and what the nutritional content is in bottled alcoholic beverages. Right now, there are almost no requirements as to what is labeled on alcoholic beverages that are sold in retail stores.

  • Noise control: Leaf Blowers
    Leaf blowers are adding unnecessary noise pollution to the environment and robbing people of their right to peace and quiet. Typically they are used in park like settings, where people are going to get away from all the noise to begin with. They are so loud that the sound cuts right through my walls and disrupts my business. The non stop noise is driving me batty.

    I am apalled to learn how horrible the fur industry really is. Its bad enough that animals are legally trapped, a slow and painful death, because some desire the 'clothes' off their backs. Now, I have learned that the fur industry condones the skinning of LIVE animals! I recently saw a video from PETA, which made me literally ill. Animals kept in cages and brought out, tied to a pole and the skin pulled off of them while they scream with the pain. A gruesome death, for sure. They don't deserve that. How is this allowed? Please tell our leaders to outlaw torturing animals for ANY reason!

    Our food is killing us and those that govern our food are being paid big money to let corporations mislead the consumers. The product labeling is misleading and false! The fish is being swpapped out for less expensive fish full of toxins. The fruit and vegetables are being laced with poisons. Our meat is full of chemicals to make the animals fat faster. We go into the market and spend our hard earned money on food that is killing us.
