We damage our land, water, and air. We pay 10,000 times more than neccessary. We do all of this for bottled water. And bottled water is not better or healthier than tap water. We are polluting earth for nothing. We need to reduce our usage of bottled water.

The severe storm damage caused by climate change is a result of oil companies greed. The burning of fossil fuels is the cause, therefore the oil companies who have been profiting from it should pick up the tab for the damage. They should also pick up the tab for the cost of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars which were fought for their benefit.

We have an opportunity this year to expand Yosemite National Park by hundreds of acres, just in time for the 150th anniversary of Yosemite’s original Land Grant. This expansion will restore beautiful forest land that was stripped from the park and given to loggers, miners and the railroad industry long ago. Only Congress has the power to expand Yosemite National Park: With the leadership of preservation champions like Sen. Diane Feinstein, we can get this done in time for Yosemite’s 150th birthday.

Colorado is going the wrong way, getting set to triple the number of oil and gas fracking wells in Colorado, while the evidence of serious harm mounts up all around us. "What the Frack?! Araphoe", concerned citizens group, is urging Colorado legislators to put public health and safety first, by enacting a state-wide moratorium on new drilling, so risks can be objectively assessed.

I've been inspired by the town of Concord, MA, which just banned plastic single use water bottles less than 34 ounces. We need to do the same here in LA.

Shell Oil has had an accident already in the Arctic in their drilling of test wells. Seventeen crew members were rescued, but the fate of endangered animals is not so clear. What happened to Pres. Obama's "promise" to keep another "BP" from happening? The US is one of the major exporters of oil. Do we need to ruin all our pristine areas and kill endangered species for the sake of greed?

I"m constantly experiencing the purchasing of more products that become useless by only few uses and end up in the waste can. The cities are increasing the sizes of the waste and the recyclable cans as a civic answer to this disastrous phenomena.

There is a rock crushing/wood chipping facility that's planning on opening up shop right in the middle of our town of Ketchikan Alaska. The planning request has no provisions for the pollution that will be involved. No water treatment facility. No dust pollution plans. No noise pollution plans. (It's going to be near schools, a library, preschool, etc. They also want long term storage of their equipment and chemicals. It will be near a prime salmon spawning ground as well as one of the largest salmon hatcheries in the state. There was a deadline to comment, 12/31/12

It may be connected to the rise in inflammation illnesses in this country. The timing is about right for many of the increases in some of these illnesses, as in Lupus, Diabetes, Numerous Arthritis , fibromyalgia , neuropathies , and many more that haven't been explained any other way. I have felt better since going as GMO free as possible, which has been VERY HARD , since I have had to call all of my food producers personally to find out if they are GMO. It has been exhausting . but my Doctors want to see if it makes a difference in my health. And if Monsanto believed there was no problem , why did they spend $8,112,069 And cheat to defeat labeling of our food when the ENTIRE EUROPEAN UNION requires some form of disclosure for foods made with GMOs.
