Reduce CO2 input from wild firesGlobal warming increases with rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere. Especially in the last few years, huge forest and range fires have put thousands of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. Better management of federal lands west of the front range of the Rockies could reduce this threat.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dr Robert L. Stebbins

Leave Uranium Underground, Undisturbed in VirginiaMy Father Died of Lung Cancer, and his death was both horrible and beautiful in its own way. This petition is about the proposal to allow Uranium Mining in the Commonwealth of Virginia, because doing so is first - entirely foolhardy, and totally Not necessary. We need as many people as possible to sign this petition, especially citizens of Virginia. People anywhere can sign, however because if this is permitted, we can eventually expect to say good bye to the following: safe foods to eat from most of Virginia, a clean and safe area to live or vacation in all of the eastern 2/3 of Virginia (plus northeastern North Carolina) and a future in which "Virginia is for Lovers." Eventually people will have to replace the word lovers in the slogan with the word Losers,4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dr. David Woodward

Put an End to ChemtrailsGeoengineering is the practice of using mechanical and chemical methods of altering the weather patterns. One popular method is mixing aluminum with jet fuel. When the engines of jets--passenger, cargo or military--burn that fuel at altitude, the aluminum is ejected with the exhaust and it creates a cloudy streak called a chemical trail, also known as a chemtrail. Aluminum in large air quantities is toxic, and over time, it can lead to many crippling diseases such as lung cancer and Alzheimer ’s disease. However, neither the EPA nor anyone in Washington is addressing this issue.66 of 100 SignaturesCreated by DJ Foley

Ban Leaf BlowersLeaf blowers are widely considered one of the worst, most obnoxious inventions of all time. They are noisy, polluting, create toxic dust storms and contribute to CO2 buildup in the atmosphere. Their costs far outweigh their benefits and we can easily live without them.209 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Chip Thomas

US Forest Service Reforms: Support and ImproveAs students of Eastern High School in Louisville Kentucky we have recently been introduced to the devastating problems facing our national forests. After reading the book "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson it was drawn to our attention the little effort the US Forest Service was providing in solving the issues. In fact much of the funding was used inappropriately for things such as the timber industry and roads, hurting our beautiful woods. Though the Forest Service has recently improved with the "Roadless Law" we believe that our country can do much better!8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Madelene McGill

"President Obama: Stop them from DUMPING CHEM TRAILS ON US"It is a sad shame. Wake up to beautiful blue skies. Get in your truck and look up. A chem trail here, a chem trail there until they crisscross to produce a chem trail soup. Now the beautiful blue sky is a haze of white chemical, biological, hazardous muck designed to HELP mankind. Come on now. Let's be real. Stop the harm being forced upon the inhabitants of EARTH.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cheryle Johnson

"President Obama: Save our EARTH FROM BEING HAARPED INTO EXTINCTION"Money...Is not so important as to let the most powerful kill and destroy our planet Earth. Watching the devastation is making people want to die or kill loved ones to save them. The animals dying in bulk, people getting sick, major NOT natural disasters. SAVE OUR PLANET EARTH NOW!4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cheryle Johnson

Ban non-biodegradable packaging for foodI am so frustrated that every single thing I buy at the grocery store comes wrapped in non-biodegradable plastic materials that are harmful for the environment. I want a world where we don't damage the planet with every purchase we make.292 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Josephine Thomason and Taymar Pixleysmith

Moratorium on Fracking in the United StatesHorror stories of serious illness, contamination of air and water, presence of toxic chemicals in animals which may make it into the food we eat, corruption of agencies which are not releasing adequate water sample information to affected citizens are coming out of Pennsylvania and North Dakota where large scale fracking is underway. President Obama is encouraging this and wants to begin exporting natural gas. France, Ireland and the state of New York currently have bans on fracking. Fracking should be banned in this country until the health impacts have been thoroughtly studied and documented. Protect Our Water From Toxic Coal WasteCoal ash is contaminating our rivers, lakes and drinking water supplies here in North Carolina. Coal ash contains a number of toxic heavy metals including arsenic, chromium and selenium, among many others, and is often stored near waterways in unlined impoundments. The state is aware of the pollution, but has yet to take action. We need the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to issue comprehensive rules on coal ash disposal.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sandra Diaz

Political leaders need to get serious about climate protectionExtreme weather events have affected all regions of the country, and probably the planet: 2011 drought in Texas, 2012 drought in major grain-growing regions, "Superstorm Sandy," melting permafrost generating methane, temperature anomalies wreaking havoc on fruit production, bark beetles destroying coniferous forests in Texas, Canada, Alaska, and elsewhere.61 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Touchet
