• Ban Fracking in MA
The US Geological Service released in report in 2012 which found natural gas in the Hartford Shale of Western and Central MA. We must not allow environmentally damaging fracking in MA.

  • Stop Financing the Destruction of the Blair Mountain Battlefield
Arch Coal's Adkins Fork mountaintop removal (MTR) coal mining permit would destroy an important part of the Blair Mountain battlefield in West Virginia, site of the largest labor uprising in US history. MTR is destroying our health, heritage, environment, and communities. Appalachians deserve a better future.

  • Ban Hydraulic Fracturing in the state of Ohio, and be an example across the country.
Hydraulic Fracturing is an issue going on all around the nation. Shale gas is the next best thing for America relieving us of our dependence on foreign oil. But to do so by trampling the health of the citizens is NOT okay! We have a fundamental right to clean air and water. We have a right not to be burdened by earthquakes cause by the fracturing of underground shale! We deserve to be free from harmful chemicals and radiation in our own drinking water. I know people who have been personally affected by it and when I heard it would start in Ohio, I became very scared. I have done a lot of research on the topic including one on why do so is unethical. It pains me to read about what has happened to people. The health of the citizens needs to come above natural gas.

  • Don't spray our rights of way
Our 300 tree apple orchard, with30 varieties has been lost to the use of herbicides on roadsides and by power providers. It took 25 yeasr to build an agribusiness which produced 500 to 800 bushels per year. Even more serious, the quality of all Missouri water is affected by the fact that every road and every right of way in this state gets chemical treatment, sometimes several times a year.

  • Step Up to the Plate, US Government: Save Our Planet
The issue of human-caused global warming has been largely ignored by the national government because of the influence of powerful energy-guzzling corporations. Some politicians still deny its very existence. The truth is that global warming and the accompanying damage, already evident in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, threatens our very way of life. Opponents maintain, however, that the US would suffer an economic meltdown and incredible loss of jobs should an attempt be made to shut down the gas and coal industries. The solution to global warming while maintaining a healthy economy is simple, if controversial: the US government must nationalize coal and oil corporations and gradually redistribute jobs and investments to renewable energy industries like solar and wind.

  • Limit farm subsidies to farmers who pollute.
A large number of Farmers do not follow good soil conservation practices. Instead, they try to maximize profits by planting from boundary to boundary. The result is often soil erosion and fertilizer run-off that pollutes our rivers. Fisheries in the Chesapeake bay have been adversely affected by such pollution. The Gulf of Mexico is at risk. We should not subsidize such destructive practices, but should reward good farm practices instead. The use of bio-char in soil in soil increases soil fertility and has been shown to sequester carbon for thousands of years. Carbon sequestration can limit or reverse global warming.
