We all live very confortable in our homes, concerned about how the weather around the world and right here in USA soil, have devastated East cost. Of course we why but, have any of us thinks about insane deforestation in Amazon forest, and other Latin countries, for example? Why we still are building 1000's of houses with an 85% of wood on it, instead of use other kind of materials? This is an intolerable practice that has to be STOPED! Does our politicians at local, state or federal level know how much trees are destroyed every minute? We are taking away no just forest but the air, the water and the future of our children, please take this concern seriously and stop talking about political banalities. Think in your country first, NOW!

The need to get very serious re. global warming , like Germany is, after a wasted decade of the Bush years- and a wasted 25 years or so since Gore sounded the warning- as far as the govt. is concerned.

The industrial growth economy is killing the very planet upon which we all depend. This issue has directly affected me and it affects all of us humans and non-humans alike. We need mainstream alternatives to our mass consumerism and oil addiction. We need to get to work on alternative energy, eco-housing, eco-villages, and organic urban farming using the principles of permaculture. These items need to be promoted by members of our governing body. Many people are already acting out of compassion and peace for the earth. This petition calls for our political leaders to promote and educate the people in these matters and urges them to show that another future is entirely possible. Instead of chasing and cherishing profit over life and warring with other countries for resources, we CAN create a society of abundance. Honestly, I have major doubts that this will happen, given the deep corruption at every level of our governing body...but here's to "yes we can."

Enact a moratorium on heavy metal mining in Northern Minnesota, until there is proof that it will not pollute our precious watersheds. Sulfide (heavy metal) mining produces the worst environmental pollution in our nation. Do we want to risk our forests, lakes and streams, as well as tourist economy for the profit of mining companies?

Global Warming is a very real and present danger. Continuing on the course we are on, we are facing the extinction of 40 - 70% species when we hit +3.5* above normal average global temperatures. Unless we drastically target CO2 emissions we could see the end of humanity within 100 years. Let's make this a Global Priority instead of just another profit hurdle for large corporations! Around the world and heavily in the United States, airplanes are spraying aluminum, barium and other agents in cloud seeding (also called Stratospheric Aerosol Geoengineering and chemtrails) programs. This is creating manmade floods, droughts, severe weather and global dimming. It's also poisoning the soil and making it inhospitable for crops to grow, except for genetically modified organisms that are engineered to withstand the effects created by the weather control program that poisons the soil. Until last summer, I had beautiful, healthy vegetables in my garden. This summer I had few vegetables, and they were in poor condition.
